I am not kidding on this one. Their plant that makes and supplies the Kellogg's Eggo Waffles will be on hold for at least that long due to a flood in Atlanta Gorgia where the plant is located. I heard this on my local news earlier this week and forgot to post the thread until now. Those who like them will have a hard time finding them now because of a major shortage and they have to rebuild the flooded section of the plant before they can start making the waffles and shipping them again. It did about a billion dollars in damages too.:)

Oh my goodness. :( Somebody should begin charity fund to open up this business again soon.

There is nothing the can do until the building is rebuilt so if you can't find any right now that is why.:)

:O MY WAFFLES!!!

I am sending my mom to the store to re-stock on them now, she is going to get me like 100 waffles. :F

C88. once they are all out you will not see anymore until at least that long. Have you watched the news lately? From that post I can see you don't watch the news that much and you should be watching at least 1 hour of news per day so you know what is going on around you.:)

Last time I watched anything close to the news was new years eve of 08, which was for the New Year Celebration. Whenever I see news on the TV I walk out of the room or change the channel. lol I had the chance to listen to the inauguration of Obama but I slept instead.

Ya, The Waffles don't expire for quite some time as they are frozen so I will be stacking up on them.

rofl, C88. Last time I watched the news was probably in early '08 (no joking here, people). I really don't care about a loss of Eggo Waffles, as I prefer other things, like pancakes, for breakfast...

If the plant is back up running, I don't understand why there would be shortages till mid 2010. It sounds like covering yourself by plant executives and fear mongering by the press.

...*Goes In a Corner and curls into a ball*....:O MY WAFFLES!!!!

"Lego-lego my eggo? Leggo my eggo? Leggo my eggo! WAAAH!"
As you can see, I am upset. I do however eat cereal, so iz ok I guesh

^ Thats what I was thinking loool. You guys act as though Waffles have been wiped of the face of the planet lol

The shortage starts at the beginning of next year and last to the mid part of 2010.:) Thought I let you guys know ahead of time. C88 watch the news more often. If you skipped Obama's inaugeration that was really bad since he was being sworn in as president of the United States of America. Bad form C88.:)

There are others, but how much of the market does Eggo have and did that plant do any store brands?

waffles are overrated anyway. pop-tarts are soooo much better. =]

More seriously, I still have a bit of hard time believing the shortage will last for 6 or more months. However, as I said, I am not in any way affected by this, and you waffle fans can eat other brands. If this does last for a while, though, I won't be too surprised.

How does it start next year when the flooding already happened? I find it hard to believe that it won't start sooner, or if it will last 6 months. They can rebuild it and put more product in a lot faster, and if it's only a part of the factory, they can sell the ones in the other part. Link us please to where the story is.

I'm so glad I have 3 of those 48 count boxes of buttermilk waffles sitting at the bottom of my freezer. I doubt it will last me and my family a year, but it's better than nothing. I didn't know about this, but I noticed that the flimsy little 8 pack chocolate chip waffels were 1.75 more than usual. I hope it doesn't affect the company too badly.

WHAT? But I love waffles! How is this humanely possible?! Some people over at grocery stores must be going mad because they must make a billion dollars off of eggo products every year!!!
