Eighth Gen consoles announced - Thoughts?

You can always have it tied to a psn name or an xbl gamer tag, but people change those all the time. I would prefer they do it how they do with some of the online features (that is, if they go the route of no second hand games) and have you purchase the right to use it, or at least have the original code that came with the game. Or even possibly, how ea games used to do it and you signed up for their online service, that way any console you were on, you signed in to it, then it would recognize that particular disk is tied to you so that you may use it. Just some thoughts.

I personally will buy the wii U when ever I have a chance because it looks awesome!(also maybe because a Pokemon game will be only on the wii U? XD)

Well, the anti-used thing turned out to be bogus (or at least mostly), so I have no problems getting a PS4 now. So I'll probably be sticking with that and Wii U this gen. Microsoft needs to wow me with good exclusives before I climb back aboard.

I am a game design student, and let me be the first to say that I refuse to develop for any console that has an anti-used system. I already have a working beat-em-up for PS3 ready, and if they continue down this path with Microsoft, I'll have to be PC or Nintendo only. Some of my inspirations are from games that I BORROWED when I was a kid. With anti-used, that also means anti-borrowing.

Screw Sony if they do this.

I'm a future game designer, and I refuse to ever make a game for Microsoft.
Oh, and btw, Nintendo is actually against used games. They're in the process of filing a lawsuit right now.

How so? This is legal bs. Nintendo has got stuff like that down to second nature.

They have no grounds on which to file a lawsuit.

They have no grounds to file a law- No. They do. It's their games, and they want their money, and not GameStop. They published them, they allow people to use them; as far as I'm concerned, they have the grounds.

By that you mean that they are being greedy bastards and wanting no sale of used games to be allowed, but won't continue making copies of old games that these people would buy.

Right. So they're being dolts.

C-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-combobreaker.

The Wii U hasn't impressed me. Games like Smash Bros. are two years off, and I have my 3DS for that anyways. The Wind Waker remake is cool, but not cool enough to make me buy the system for it. As for the new Zelda... I'll have to see about that.

I really like the PS4. The new controller is very pleasing, and I love how everything is shaping up. TBH I've always liked Sony more than Microsoft anyways, with free online, exclusives and non-suiciding systems, so if I'm getting a console this gen it's going to be the PS4.

I've always been a Xbox gamer but since the announce of the PS4 I've sort of been re-thinking that! I watched the PS4 Press Conference and I was simply blown away with all of the features that Sony was showing off, and the fact that this time they're going for more of a PC like experience. Of course only time will tell with what the Xbox "720" has to offer and how it will stand up against the PS4!
