If you use rainbow energies (like a holons magneton) or something to power up for Electivires attack, and you have all the energy needed and 1 lightning energy, can you discard just that 1 lightning energy to do 120 damage? Since is states "all lightning energy".

Considering that Rainbows are everything, it's automatically discarded as it provides Lightning as well.
If you USE the Holon's Magneton as lightning (e.g. You have 1 fire energy, 1 lightning energy, 1 Holon's Magneton) you must discard it.
However, if you DON'T USE Holon's Magneton as lightning (e.g. you have 3 lightning energy and 1 Holon's Magneton) you don't have to discard it. It depends on whether you have 3 lightning energies OTHER THAN the Holon's Magneton.
