Emboar/Reshiram

Hello everyone, Reshiram/Emboar is a deck that I'm gonna try to build, and I would like some criticism on my list. Here it is:

Pokemon: 25
2-2-2 Emboar B/W (Inferno Fandango)
4 Reshiram B/W
2-2 Nintales HGSS
2-2-2 Typhlosion Prime HGSS
2 Uxie LA
1-1 Dodrio UD
1 Azelf LA

Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 23
2x Snowpoint Temple LA(I think)
3x Pokemon Collector HGSS
3x Bebe's Search RR
2x Interviewer's Questions UL
2x Expert Belt AR
4x Energy Retrieval B/W
2x Pokemon Communication B/W
3x Broken Time-Space PL
2x Seeker TR

Energy: 12
12x Fire Energy

Strategy: The Strategy is to set up Emboar quickly on the bench and have Reshiram out. Emboar's ability Inferno Fandango (awesome name) allows you attach as many fire energies as you want a turn, so you can recharge Reshiram quickly from the drawback of Reshiram's Blue Flare. Ninetales and Uxie provide very good draw power and Typhlosion helps recycle energies. So, in a nutshell, inflict mass amounts of damage with Reshiram, then recharge quickly with Emboar.

Thank you for reading, and I appreciate any ideas or changes you think I should make :).

The deck seems fine except you might want to add in some broken time space because of the rare candy errata, so take out 1 fire and two dce for that.

Retrieval is better then fisherman, as it's not a supporter. Remove Fisherman (at least 1) for another collector until you have 3-4, it's much more consistent and quick.

I think you should run a smaller typhlosion line (1-0-1 or 1-1-1) just because setting up 2 stage-2 pokemon for a basic (reshiram) that can be set up rather quickly seems kinda iffy, in my opinion. Though itd be good later on because you could use ur trainers and fishermans early.

Like mentioned you should run more energy retrieval, like 4, because it get 2 back and your discarding 2 with reshiram, so its perfect. Id also run maybe 2-3 junk arm to get them back.

id run 2-3 Fisherman just in case you face a trainer lock, maybe 2 because you have typhlosion in case of trainer lock too. So your good.

Ill tell you how i made my list; i used a 2-2-2 line of emboar because its not an attacker, and i teched in a 1-1 dodrio UD line because it works nicely since reshiram has 2 retreat. With a couple of seekers, you can easily retreat a damaged reshiram and seeker it up and send up a fresh one.

Thank you so much everyone, I appreciate it. I like the Dodrio idea Avacodo, very smart. Anyone else have some changes you think I should make?

Me does. I disagree with Avocado about Typhlosion, you kinda need him to consistently attack every turn,a nd if you get two out then you don't need to use any trainers to recover energy. You should bulk that up to 2-2-2. I would get rid of the Rare Candy and add a 3rd BTS, because frankly Rare Candy is just a lot worse after the rule change.... (we'll have to make do with it once BTS is gone, however) You have so many Energy Retrieval that I would drop both Fisherman. It's not worth the turn's supporter use. Frankly I don't know what VS Seeker is doing there. You could make better use of that space. I would add at least one more Expert Belt. You can slim down on energy, 15 is overkill, even in this deck. Snowpoint Temple could be considered, because you can give Reshiram a whopping 170 HP combined with Expert Belt (just look out for Machamp SF and water types like Gyarados).

Overall:

-3 Rare Candy
-2 Fisherman
-1 VS Seeker
-3 {R}

+1 Cyndaquil
+1 Quilava
+1 Typhlosion Prime
+1 Azelf (in case something's prized, like your only Doduo/Dodrio)
+2 Snowpoint Temple
+1 Broken Time-Space
+1 Bebe's Search (consistency)
+1 Expert Belt

Add the HGSS Promo # 15 Shuckle. It's GOD. You can Inferno Fandango on to Shuckle, and draw a card for every energy you put on him.

But in that case you need a good way to move those fires from Shuckle to soemthing that needs them. And in that case Ninetales isn't needed. Still Shuckle isn't that great.

*Facepalms* Ugh. I made that comment after my friend decided to use Shuckle in his MagneGatr(will be MagneBoar) deck. I guess it doesn't work the same way with Reshiram, though.

Thank you so much Meaty, those all were excellent points and they all make sense. I appreciate you putting time into this as well. Thank you FlameMaster for trying haha.

If you decide to use shuckle, add stark mountain to move an energy from him to reshrom. I agree that ninetails would be a better route for draw. Great input on the deck everyone!

i would some how add magnezone prime. the other meta deck will be samerott-feraligatr. with no way to defend against water this deck will go down easily. also, add the fisherman back. Against a vilegar this will be a hard fight. All they have to do is role heads on fainting spell. take out the dodrio and a uxie. you already have good draw power and a magnezone prime will give you more options while helping in a bad game.
