Hello everyone! I am JackTheMick, and I play the Pokémon TCG in the Seniors division. I am just getting back into the game. I run a custom Empoleon/Dusknoir/Leafeon deck. I am looking for some advice, as I really want to experience going to the U.S. Nationals.
Decklist:

Pokémon:

  • 4 Piplup
    1 Prinplup
    4 Empoleon
    3 Eevee
    3 Leafeon
    1 Duskull
    1 Dusknoir
    1 Exeggcute
    1 Mr. Mime
Trainer/Supporter/Stadium

  • 4 Rare Candy
    4 Ultra Ball
    3 Level Ball
    3 Professor's Letter
    3 Super Rod
    2 Switch
    1 Max Potion
    1 Silver Bangle
    1 Silver Mirror
    2 Shauna
    3 Professor Juniper
    3 N
    4 Skyla
Energy:

  • 7 Water
I have played for about a month with this deck. This is a great deck against many staple cards, like Keldeo EX and many others. The strategy is to use Empoleon and Leafeon to attack with 1 energy, use Diving Draw for draw support, and Dusknoir for bench knockouts, avoiding Mr. Mime's protection.

I would like to receive suggestions, but remember that I am 13, so I have a low budget for cards. I know that Tropical Beach could be a help, but it is WAY too expensive.

Thank you for the tips! I got crushed at league without Super Rod and Switch. I will try to get a Life Dew, but I will stick with my deck until then.

Edited to coincide with the rules! :D ~Kecleon

I like the general concept of the deck, but you have some things to change:

4 ultra ball
4 Evosoda
3-3 leafeon
3 Professor's Letter

In my opinion, these is overkill, you may switch somethings.

-4 evosoda
-1-1 leafeon
-2 professor's letter
-1 mew ex
-1 level ball

+1 super rod
+2 silver bangle/muscle band
+1 ace spec (may be a rocky guard, life dew, or the standard computer search our downsing machine)

these are the basic, and you get some space to consider some cards, some examples:

Lysandre
Pokemon Fan Club
Virbank City Gym + Hypnotoxic Laser
add more 1-0-1 Dusknoir
Pal Pad

These are some ideas, i dont want to say what you have to do, i prefer give you other things to think and make your personal deck with the money than you have.

I expect this advice have been of some help.

P.S. Sorry of my english, I'm from Brazil and he sucks.

You don't want mew EX in here, and with 4 Ultra Ball, you don't need Evosoda either.

-1 Mew EX
-4 Evosoda
-2 Professors Letter

+1-2 Super Rod*
+1 Prinplup
+2-3 Switch/Escape Rope*
+1 Dowsing Machine*
+1-2 Lysandre
+1 Pokemon Fan Club
+1-2 Silver Mirror
+1-2 Tool Scrapper/Surprise Megaphone*

These are just some suggestions. I would definitely take out those 7 cards, but what you put in is personal preference. Any card/cards I put a * by, you need to add at least 1 of, the rest is up to you really. I play this deck a lot and it's fun, so I hope you are liking it!

I highly suggest Exeggcute in any Empoleon build. It makes diving draw free so you're not forced to discard cards in your hand if you don't want to and it reduces the costs of your ultra balls. You already run level balls so he's easy to find. Just a 1 of for consistency is Empoleon's best friend.

I have an Exeggcute in this deck lol! I love that card, but if it is your 1st basic Pokémon, you are done for.

clearly I am blind haha I'm so sorry xD I must have looked past it at least twice. I feel the risk outweighs the reward. I've played empoleon for a long time and as long as you have other basics usually you can stabilize. I've actually had him as an effective staller because some players would rather not knock it out and give you access to it in the discard.

I never thought of it that way! Although that could happen, most players in my league would rather take a prize card and let me have free Diving Draw instead of letting it stall.
