Ruling Empoleon LVL X

Suppose the game's like this. I'm a Kricketune player and totally slacking off. So much, in fact, that my opponent manages to set up an Empoleon LVL X. He uses his Power and I have to place 2 cards face down, as usual. Of course, next turn I throw in a CC. However, since part of the Power says I get my cards back after this turn, and since that very Power is now blocked, what happens to my 2 cards?
I would assume I'd just get them back, since getting them back seems to come along automatically while invoking the Power. However, this sounds a bit contradictory compared to the text on Empoleon's card, since the way it's written there, it makes me think that the placing away and the getting back are 2 totally independent parts.

Wouldn't it be that the effect has already taken place, and thus able to continue until the turn ends? It's what happens if you get a CC onto Lucario L. X.

The cards won't go to your deck because the cards that your opponent choose doesn't are in play or in you hand.
Empoleon lv.x Poke Power says that in the parentheses.

OK. Now. You are right in assuming that you would get your cards back. When he uses the power the full effect is applied then. Think of it like a time delay lock - once you set it, it keeps going, even if you turn it off. (Well, for some Time-Delay locks at least...).

NEVER, unless it specifically states on the text that the power must be unblock able, NEVER, will a Poke-Power *HAVE* to be unblock able for you to, in this case, get your cards back.

^Good explanation. I tend to remember it as:

It stops powers and bodies from being activated/used but not the EFFECTS of those powers or bodies if already activated.

That's due to the way it's worded: "cannot USE"
