I'm not sure if any of you guys have noticed yet, but in MA the end of the world came a week early. I'm already dead.

Seriously though, if the world does end (which it won't) I will miss you all and will hope to see you in the afterlife.

I wish people wouldn't make threads like this. I for some reason often believe that anything that can go wrong will, and although i am perfectly aware that the world will not end, my paranoia is still running on a high. I was freaked out the day Harold Camping predicted the rapture although I am atheist, proving my disorder. If the world were to scientifically and plausibly end, I see no point in making goodbyes since none of us will see anything afterwards or we'll see everybody else on the other side.
Anyway happy holidays.

To get facts straight, the Maya didn't predict anything would happen on Dec. 21 (save perhaps for a major spiritual awakening) and their calendar loops over to start the next Great Cycle. Any theories of doomsday originate from Western superstition and History Channel's attempt to get more viewers by promoting the notion that the end of an ancient calendar translates as the end of time. Legitimate scientists have tried to refute this time and again, but the movie 2012 hampered their attempts. Frankly, I almost believed this hoax, even after doing countless web searches for sites that state factual evidence against this awful prediction (which are plentiful). Still, I can't shirk the fear that something bad will happen.
