Hello,

Sorry in advance if this has been asked before, I did a quick skim of forums and haven't found this question asked. My question is about Espeon GX's Divide GX attack; I think there's something I'm not getting about this attack. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Espeon-GX_(Sun_&_Moon_61) It says "
Put 10 damage counters on your opponent's Pokémon in any way you like. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)"

So do you only put 10 damage counters once on one pokemon? One damage counter on each pokemon? One damage counter for each pokemon? I'm really confused here. If it's a GX attack that you can only use once a game and all it does is put 10 damage counters on each pokemon, that seems rather weak no?

Sorry for my brain fart but I'm failing to make sense of this attack

Thanks for the help

First off.
1 Damage Counter = 10 Damage.

And 10 DMG Counters in any way you like means that you have 100 Damage. And you can for example put 30 on Pokemon x. 40 on Pokémon Y and so on.

At least thats how i understand it

Mirdo has it! So you have 10 counters of 10 damage to place freely amongst your opponents pokemon so 9 on 1 and 1 on another or even 2 on 5 different pokemon. Great for finishing off weakened pokemon on the bench!

Another advantage of placing damage counters (versus "doing damage") is that it bypasses a lot of effects. So, for instance, if one of the Defending Pokemon had an effect that said it couldn't be damaged by your Pokemon's attacks, a "place damage counters" attack would bypass that.

It can even bypass things like Mr. Mime's Bench Barrier ability.

So it's a pretty useful attack in many scenarios.
