TCG Fakes EX Fusion Noir (Full Set)

The International Police have given their Special Agent a new mission in Cascade City, where it's said the rain never ends. Interpol's insiders say that Helix Co., the leaders in genetics research, are developing something sinister—and it's up to Looker to find out what. Little did he know how deep the case went...

The last time I made a set was in 2017—and it was text-based. But earlier this year I got back into the faking scene, and now about half a year later I present to you a full, image-based set! I tried to tell a story with this one—a noir detective story—filled to the brim with LORE, and finally bring the concept of Fusion Pokémon to the TCG. I originally made this to fit in a Lackey ex format, so it's meant to be played on its own. Perhaps I'll submit it for review at some point if the interest is there (as Lackey is kinda dead at the moment), but for now I'll just be showing you what I've made.

EX Fusion Noir features the following:

- 170 new cards
- 9 new Pokémon-ex
- 8 Pokémon-Fusion, a new mechanic
- 3 Pokémon Star (but they're secret, don't tell anyone)

Fusion Pokémon

Spoiler: How It Works (Featuring Solrock & Lunatone)

The way I approached Fusion Pokémon was to go the way of Yu-Gi-Oh! with an Item card that fuses two Pokémon together. However, unlike Yu-Gi-Oh!, Fusion Pokémon aren't in an extra deck, and are included in the main deck. I might change my mind about it and let Pokémon be included in an Extra deck, but at the moment I wanted to keep the core mechanic of the TCG intact with 60-card decks.

Pokémon-Fusion have higher HP, give up 2 prizes, usually have two types, and usually only have one Poké-POWER/Poké-BODY, which might not seem like much. However, Pokémon-Fusion can use all the attacks and Poké-POWERS/BODIES of the Pokémon they were created from, their "Fusion Material." If you have Gaioulder Fusion stuck in your Active and it was created with a Lunatone, slap a Solrock down onto your bench and it can retreat for free with Lunatone's Solar Lift Poké-BODY.

All of the Pokémon-Fusion (except Black Kyurem and White Kyurem) have designs originally made by me.

This is a very interesting set idea! I could definitely see this being added to Lackey with enough interest. In fact, I’ve been thinking of raising the suggesting of adding the “Lackey” sets to a similar program called Untap.in, which is accessed through a browser and would put the format where more people could see it (and would be willing to play it).
I would like to make one suggestion, however. If you haven’t already designed one, I would suggest adding a Trainer card (perhaps as a Secret Rare) that unfuses one of your Pokémon. There are two reasons for this: first, artificial, item-based fusions of this sort are always reversible in the games; and second, because it would be truly cruel to leave Pokémon stuck like this forever, since by nature this new fusion is meant to be two creatures, each with a soul of its own.
Here was what I imagined an effect of this sort would look like:

You may only play this card if you have more prize cards remaining than your opponent, and if you have one or more free spaces on your bench. Choose one of your benched Fusion Pokémon in play and discard the top card of that Pokémon (this counts as unfusing it). Then, put both Pokémon underneath that Pokémon onto your bench, and move all damage counters, counters, markers, and cards attached to that Pokémon to the Pokémon you put on your bench in this way.

With a card like this, you could switch a damaged Gaiouldur FUSION to your bench, unfuse it (defuse?), move the bulk of the damage onto one of the source material and the attached cards onto the other one, bench a new Pokémon, and refuse. The one concern I can see with adding a card like this is that Helix’s DNA Splicers deletes damage from play, even if this card doesn’t.
Hope you found my idea interesting, even if you decide not to implement it.

(P.S. I just looked up the definition of “Noir,” and Oxford Languages describes it as “a genre of crime film or fiction characterized by cynicism, fatalism, and moral ambiguity,” so now I’m worried there may not be a happy ending for the fused Pokémon. Please prove me wrong.)

This is a very late reply BUT, I have begun work on a new set that is a sequel to EX Fusion Noir, and I love the idea! Let’s just say there might be a new card in that set… ?
