Expansion Pak's use in Stadium 2?

So I recently got an Expansion Pak to play Majora's Mask, but when i played Stadium 2 the other day it said, "Expansion Pak detected" on the title screen. What exactly does it do for this game?

According to an FAQ I read, it slightly improves the graphics.
