Expectations for next season

This thread is for people like me who can't wait for the next season to kick off and want to burn the time by talking it up!!! So how well are you expecting to do next season? Are planning on going to more, less, or the same amount of events this season and why? Where are you planning on wreaking your havoc?

Personally, I have really high hopes for next season. I started last season really awful. I pretty much went even at all the events. But at the end I had a surge of wins. The last BR I went undefeated during swiss, but lost in top cut. And this past pre-release I went undefeated the tourny. I know these are small accomplishments, but they are major confidence boosters going into next season and now im pumped! I plan on going to about 3-4 BR fall, 2-4 cities, 2 states, 1 regional, (hopefully nats), and worlds. I live in Cali so I'll be tearing it up all over!

Really nice idea! My last season was 60/40 but I didnt go to all tournaments in my area (mainly prereleases) as I was just getting back into the game. This season I hope for a much better time this season comming hopefully entering in as many things as I can (BR/Nationals etc) so I think ill have alot more fun this season then last time!

The format should be okay. I hope there are a few policy changes and that prizes get a bit better, but besides that I think it'll be like any other season: tons of fun. :)

I'm looking forward to this next season, too. I started playing competitively in January 2009, and I went to my first Battle Roads in December 2009. goldenthumb, I also had a recent morale booster as I won a Battle Roads Spring. I hope to go to a lot of tournaments this season and look forward to playing. I'm actually going to keep track of my record this time. :p

Well last season I went to every tournament excluding BR's Autumn and Worlds, and it was my first season of play. So I'm hoping that I will become an even better player and get a worlds invite (even if I can't make it). Also I'm hoping I can do it with something that is rouge

Sweet. It sucked so bad that I finally started doing good and then Nats and worlds came so there were no tournys for what seemed like forever! Im happy BR are right around the corner. Good luck this season!

A new format rotation and a fresh new season is the best time for rouge.

Last season I started with 2 tourney wins, top cutted in a few Cities and States as well as Nats...I plan to repeat and improve that preformance.

I didn't do anything major in terms of top cutting. I judged a lot last year and plan to do the same this year. So I had no regionals or nationals to play in. The ones I do play in I am expecting to do well.

I can't wait for this season! Last year I went to cities and did terrible after that I didn't get to do any other events. This year I have a whole bunch of good deck ideas, I'm hoping to go to as many events as possible, and worlds is within a couple of hours! Even if I don't get an invite I am so going to the LCQ. I just can't wait for BR's to kick off the season.

IDK i'm approaching my season w/ cautious optimisim
It will be my first year in masters and i wasn't a great senior, lots of 3rd, 5th and 9th place finishes(one away from topcut etc.) I wasn't able to go to regs/nats, but my parents said i should be able to go this year. I have done a fair amount of testing over the summer and i hope it pays off. Also last year we had a kid who had about my rating and ended up having an AMAZING season last year(until nats he top40 in NA) so i hope i can do that. Also hoping some of my master friends will help me w/ decks.

I'm really excited for next season! I didn't really know the game very well until half way through last season, so my rating kind of failed..... I also didn't go to many major events, and if I did I wasn't playing very good decks/didn't know how to use them. So it was a sad season for me, except for getting 4th out of 36 people in Provincials.... And I have a question. Every season, do our rating points get reset back to 16.00? Someone at my league said that, and I didn't know if it was true or not.... :p

Yeah!! That's great because my rating was decreased by, like 30 points from regionals (got 2-3 but one of the wins was a bye....), and I've had a hard time even getting back up to 16.99..... So yeah, it's very sad.... I'm really hoping to do good and get top 5 in BC this year.... Yes, it's a dream for me. :p

Well, considering this is the first year that I have started actually playing the TCG, I just hope to compete and have fun while learning the game. If I do well great and if I don't it is my rookie year with having to start in masters so just gotta roll with the punches.

I did fairly well for my rookie season, i started playing last january.

second at 2 spring BR (lost to machamp and a luxchomp mirror match :/)
top four and 5 place at another
played in another BR i don't want to remember lol

barley missed top cuts at states (FL) (my first premier event)
top 32 at regionals with shuppet (FL)

I wanted to go to nats but my friend who is a marine came from afganistan for 2 weeks before shipping out to base in hawaii during nats so obliviously that was more important. Too bad he dosen't play he could have won to worlds (maybe)

and I ruined my rating by playing in the GA states i left at mid night got there at 8 played horribly all day then took the 8hr dirve back I wanted to kill my self lol.

This year I plan on going to all the premier events within 4 hours of me (so far that 8 BRs :)) I hope to win one or two BRs/Cities, top cut at the rest lol, top cut at states and at regionals again, and go to nats. If were just day dreaming here i'd go to worlds win the last chance qualifier and sweep lol. really if I just play well and net gain premier rating points ill be happy.

Charizard is not metagame. It's rogue.
