Pokemon:
Strategy:
Use Sylveon to dump all the opponent's energy onto something they were never intending to attack with (Garbodor, Jirachi EX, etc), then, if nessesary, use Leafeon PLF to hit for big damage using all that energy they can't use. Xerneas EX is there for the occasions where Sylveon's 30 or 50/60 damage isn't cutting it and you need some extra oomph, or you've got something active that you don't want to move energy off. Crushing Hammer, Enchanced Hammer and Xerosic are there in case your opponent manages to accelerate energy onto the active faster than you can knock it off.
Since this deck hardly uses any Pokemon I thought I'd try adding Slurpuff PHF to make use of all that empty bench space. It's not essential by any means but the extra draw has come in really handy and you're usually not doing much else each turn except Curly Ribboning.
I've played a few games on TCGO and, while it's never going to be Tier 1, I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. Nobody ever seems to expect it and I've taken down a few top archetypes by them running out of playable energy. Team Plasma decks seem to be particularly susceptible to it because you can dump all their plasma energy onto Thundurus EX or Glaceon and stop them using Plasma Gale.
Some things I thought about:
Xerneas XY
My first draft had 2 Xerneas XY instead of the Slurpuff just because all fairy decks run them but I find that they're not very useful. I never want more than 1 energy on a Sylveon and I usually want to attach it manually to get the Energy Evolution.
Slurpuff XY
I think I might make room for this. I left it out originally since I didn't think I was especially vulnerable to special conditions but after a few games I've found that being put to sleep can give your opponent valuable time to get enough energy on their active to start attacking you and poison damage really adds up on a 90HP attacker.
Klefki PHF
Not essential but the increased resistance might be nice against Yveltal EX. As with Slurpuff, it's just another handy bench warmer since there are so few Pokemon.
+1 Sylveon / +1 Leafeon
Maybe a 4-5 or 4-6 Eeveeloution line would give more consistency?
Switch
I left this out since I have free retreat with Fairy Garden but I think I might have to add it back in to get out of special conditions or if Fairy Garden gets countered.
What do you guys think? Most of the cards in this deck are dirt cheap so I'm thinking I might build it as an option for Cities in the new year.
