Fakemon Competition #2- Voting!​

In this thread, we will vote on who we think has the best set of entries. The winners creation(s) will added to the Pokebeach Fakedex, and as this will also be the first entry ever to be added to it, it's pretty special. I won't bog you down will an endless list of rules, but I insist that you read this thread properly, and look through each and every entry, before voting.

How to vote...

Nothing difficult here. You must vote for your three favourite entries. Whoever has the most votes at the end of the one week voting period will be declared the winner. An example vote would be:

Here are the rules and guidelines for voting.

- Don't be swayed by what other people have voted. If everyone has voted for competitor 2, then don't also vote for him just because he is popular. Conversely, if someone is popular, then don't throw away the vote just because that person has a lot already.

-You cannot vote for yourself! Also, you may not vote for the same person twice.

-You may change your vote (before the 1 week is up, that is). However, if you do, please edit your original voting post rather than make a new post altogether. If you do multiple vote posts, there's a risk that I will count the same person twice.

Again, there were so many good entries, it was hard to narrow it down to three. D:
 
1. Dictator Dauntless- Loved the design for Daemonidae. Really cool. :)
2. Scampy- Great design, the eyes looked kinda stolen from Flygon, but it's not as bad as the Nuzleaf clone last time. ;)
3. The Assassin- An interesting concept and design! Me likey.

Phazon, Diamondmaster & Godzilla get an honourable mention too. I felt Phazon's didn't transform enough in their alternate forms, but I loved the concept of disguising as berries etc. Diamondmasters were some cool designs, but again I felt the evolutions were too similar to each other I suppose. Godzillas, same deal. The evolutions were too similar in appearance, I felt. The designs weren't chosen because they didn't capture my interest, basically. :) But Phazon's was a really neat idea, close behind!!

Shadoworganoid... Aarwig was definetly an interesting new and unique design, however I felt the evolutions looked far too similar to Beedrill/Venomoth. Especially Frwasp!

And Xous, great artwork as usual but here I can just see Kricketot/Kricketune/Ledian. Ya know? The concept of a confidence Pokemon didn't pique my interest either. Confidant is a nice design however, the chest design only slightly scary. :p

Hmm, while all the entries are great, creativity was a huge problem for the artists I did like. Better luck next time.

1). Shadoworganoid; The second I saw Frwasp and read its name aloud, I absolutely had to vote for you. I love the concept of an ice wasp, especially how you made its thorax/abdomen look like a faceted block of ice. Magmoth and Aarwig didn't jump out at me in the same way as Frwasp, but I like them equally. What I like most about the line is how it contradicts itself: an ice wasp and a fire moth. Extreme cold in the form of frost and extreme heat in the form of fire are how nature and man kill insects best. In short, it's a really cool concept, but the drawings aren't quite there. However, my vote goes to you because I don't want your idea to be passed-by because of issues that can be easily be corrected.

2). Xous; It drinks water so it can continue crying, that is hilarious. A lot of people have been saying it looks similar to the Kricketune line, and I do see the similarities, but I don't see that as a problem. The drawings are very good (exactly what I'd expect) and the overall design and colors fit the descriptions and behaviors of the Pokemon very well, but what really does it for me are the Pokedex entries and the names. Binkibug (a little alliteration going there), Confidant (play on words), Wimpwig (another alliteration) all roll off the tongue and sound so freaking good. Lol, it dehydrates from crying so it seeks out water just so it can cry again. Priceless.

3). No78; Bet nobody was expecting this. I'm going to be frank, the drawings and the coloring are mostly sloppy (Pyrone in particular) and some of the legs on Pyrone and Scarlequen (good job on the name, btw) look awkward. I have to give you credit for Leocidae, though; you could have gone really overboard with the design and for the most part you did a good job with it, especially the legs. Granted, it looks like a killer sunflower that's on fire, but like I said, I think you did a good job balancing out all of the different features. It could have become an awful big mess. I can't give you credit for the art, though. It really is mediocre at best, but I think you creative enough to get my vote.

Phazon-764 (one of the coolest concepts i've heard in any sort of fakemon style competition)

I loved all the entries and I've had trouble choosing who to vote for.
 
Xous- This is so perfect. The names, the art, the concept, everything. I actually like the similarity to Kricketot, for two reasons. First of all it adds to that "You will always see me at the start of the game" feeling you get from the generic Bugs like Beedrill, Dustox and Kricketune. Secondly, it's just cool to have two lines looking similar to one another, because that's the kind of thing you see in real animals. Man, I don't even want to win now, because that means you won't win. XD

No78- My main criticism is that Scarlaquen looks like a Queen Bee and not an Ant, but I still like the design and expression. Probably my favourite thing about your submission is how crazy Leocidae looks.

Godzilla- Your dex entries sold me. Like I said in chat, I think you could have made the distinction between male and female a little more pronounced, but this is still a pretty cool entry.
 
I'll go for:
1. The Assassin (Scolopedo is brilliant, the body shape must have taken awhile to design.)
2. Scampy (Hulkapult looks like a very realistic Pokémon)
3. Phazon-764 (His Pokémon just stand out, great colours and great drawing)
 
1) Scampy (I loved the 2nd evolution, probably the best drawing of competition)
2) The Assassin (IDK This one just kind of stood out to me lol)
3) Xous (The drawings were very high quality and I liked the concepts)

(so very hard to choose an order here; all 3 entries stood out for me.)


Xous' looks far too much like Ledian. :p IMHO, we don't need more Bug/Flying types...
