As Anime is the second best thing in the world (after Pokemon), I thought I'd make a thread asking what peoples favorite Anime is! I'll start off with my current top 10:

Tied for 1st: Shingeki no Kyojin and Sword Art Online
2nd: Deltora Quest
3rd: Black Butler
4th: Tokyo Ghoul
5th: Anything Hayao Miyazaki
6th: Cowboy Beebop
7th: Naruto
8th: Log Horizon
9th: One Punch Man
10th: Digimon
Sorry Pokemon :( your right there at 11th.

I'd love to see what Anime's rank at the top on other peoples lists!

Let's see. I like the characters, and the story in general. Also love swords lol. Um the music and animation is great too.

Well I'm being judged, help, somebody. :(

Also, for SAO, the story and the music are both incredible. My favorite parts of it, at least.

Great list. I would recommend SAO (Sword Art Online), Tokyo Ghoul, and Deltora Quest. Also, if you've never watch Hayao Miyazaki movies, they are amazing. I would Recommend My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. I could list more, but those are some of the best in my opinion.
 
Here's my top ten series. I'll add some of my favourite movies and OVAs after.
  1. Baccano! (all time fave, and it's where my username here comes from)
  2. Death Parade
  3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  4. Psycho-Pass (both seasons)
  5. Cowboy Bebop
  6. KILL la KILL
  7. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
  8. 91 Days
  9. Trigun
  10. Humanity Has Declined
My tastes tend to stray towards darker series, but I also enjoy fun, light, and fluffy things too, honest!

Some movies and OVAs that I greatly enjoy are, in no particular order:
  • Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor (very surreal anime adaptation of the well known short story)
  • Digimon Adventure tri. (All of the movies counting for the one entry)
  • Persona 5 - THE DAY BREAKERS
  • The Persona 3 movies
  • FLCL (Fooly Cooly)
  • Pale Cocoon (THIS WAS AMAZING. Fell in love with it last night, lol).
I could rattle on for days, haha.
 
I don't even think I have heard of Humanity has Declined. Do you recommend it? Or is it strange or something?

Absolutely! It's set in a post-apocalyptic world, but like, a decent amount of time after. It's really cute, but it has some darker aspects.

I haven't watched much anime, but I have finished a couple.

1. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Probably my favorite television series ever. Going to start reading the manga as well.
2. Code Geass - I just finished CG last week, actually. Very interesting series with some great characters I liked and some that I hated. Lots (and lots) of plot twists.
3. Sword Art Online - I watched the first season of SAO 3-4 years ago, and gradually started to dislike it as I watched more. As I recall, I felt that the plot got somewhat bland and I wasn't a fan of the characters.Never watched the second season.
4. Pokemon - It's alright I guess. I've been watching the English dub since near the beginning of BW. I wish the seasons were more concise so there weren't so many "filler" episodes, but some of those can be fun.

Not sure what I'll watch next. Part of me wants to watch the Phoenix Wright anime, since I've been playing the games, but I watched some of the first episode and the Japanese VAs for the main characters kind of put me off. I guess I had sort of "visualized" what they would sound like while playing the games, and their voices just don't sound right to me. There was an official English dub announced for it last fall, but it seems that very little has been said about it since.

I love SAO. The first season does get a little boring once you reach the ALO arc, but in the next season, the three arcs are good, terrible, and then really good but INSANELY depressing, in that order. You should watch the second season.
 
It's so hard to choose a favorite, but Minami-ke had me rolling. Love it! <3

tbh I haven't watched all of the second season. Really need to though.

I agree, Minami-ke just doesn't make it into my top 10.
 
I don't watch anime much but I like Attack on Titan and Tales of Zestiria the X. And Deltora Quest is cool! (but I never finished it.) I love Steven Universe. It's not anime, but still :D
