Ferligatr Prime+Blastoise (HGSS On)

Too old for this.

Strategy: I wasn't sure at first what the strategy to this deck was. I just put together some cards hoping to get heavy water attackers out quickly. Now I realize that it's about getting Blastoise out onto the field and maintaining his energy level with rain dance as I take out my opponent's pokemon of my choosing.

Pokemon (17):
2-1-2 Feraligatr Prime
3-2-3 Blastoise
2 Farfetch'd
2 Manaphy

Supporters (18):
x1 Twins
x2 Copycat
x3 Interviewer's Question
x4 Professor Elm's Training Method
x4 Pokemon Collector
x4 Professor Oak's New Theory

Trainers (10):
x3 Switch
x3 Rare Candy
x4 Pokemon Communication

Energy:
{W} 15

bro, 16 t/s/s won't be enough in the next format. I'd take out the 2-2 golduck and replace it with 3 pokemon communication and a burned tower. take out that 3rd totodile and the 2nd croconaw and replace them with a second burned tower and a 3rd rare candy then replace 2 water energy for 2 fisherman.

the communication will help you set up faster. the fisherman will be for getting energy back from the discard pile after previous pokemon are knocked out...with this recycling ability, you won't have to worry about energy as much. burned tower for the same thing as fisherman, but you can try for it every turn.

3 totodile is pointless if you only have 2 feraligatr and a 2-1-2 feraligatr line would be quick with those rare candies and frees up room for IQ and golduck isn't really necessary for this deck...it doesn't really tech and would end up getting in the way of setting up blastoise and feraligatr. also will clog up your deck making it a little harder with IQ.

those are my two cents. hope it helped!

I took your words into consideration and modified the list. I haven't changed my deck yet; this is more of an idea.

why the burned towers? you dont have any cards in the deck that cause you to discard energy. is it incase you have to retreat or die? if so id take them out for energy retrieval. you could also probably sacrifise a couple energy to strengthen your supporter lines for consistency. maybe +1 elms +1 collector +1 communication -3 energy. i agree with ghost bear you should also look to add 1 or 2 fisherman

blastoise makes him discard energy. right? take out two waters for two elms or communications to help with consistency. and you still need to add strategy. Why is farfetch'd in here? Smeargle would work better. I say take out fetch'd for two smeargle then take out two water for two cleffa. Making your water cound 16. That should be plenty.

How's that? *Points Up* Blastoise returns energy to the hand. As for Farfetch'd, I have already considered possible starters and I chose Farfetch'd out of mantine, manaphy, delibird, cleffa, smeargle, and farfetch'd. I picked him for a few reasons.

1. He enables me to draw two for one energy.
2. He has a resistance to fighting.
3. He can switch himself without need of discarding or a trainer when I no longer need him providing he has not been knocked out.

I did not pick mantine because whatever water pokemon I pick, my opponent is allowed to see and after I pick and shuffle, my turn is over. Do the horrible, horrible math.

I did not pick delibird, he is the pokemon equivalent of Bill. I waste a spot and an energy just to draw 1 card early on? No thanks.

I did not pick cleffa, my friend, Bones, advised against it.

I don't like smeargle.

To be honest, it was tough to pick between manaphy and farfetch'd...

Edit: So I thiink I'll have both!

You probably want 4 candys... bump that up by taking out a water energy or twins? Possibly... haha.
Nice list though the only other thing I would change is... take out twins and then I would choose 1 starter or the other.. it would be more consistent that way.
Why did your freind not like cleffa?

He said, and I quote, "Sleep is a risk". Also, I found out from early tests that too much consistency makes for a redundancy. I figure manaphy and farfetch'd are basic and very low maintenance; they should not interfere with the flow in that aspect by having both while also adding a little variation. Once I get my cards in the mail, I will test my theory and this deck.

You need to add a Strategy to the decklist in the first post.

dmaster out.
