So, I've been looking at a lot of Volcanian, Lycanroc, and Zygarde lists recently, and there's something i noticed that I'm questioning. Why does no one play 4 Mallow-4 Scorched Earth as an engine? You basically guarantee the two cards you need and can draw them instantly. We also have Mini-Volcanian and Carbink-Break in the game, so its not like you lose the energy. What am I missing here?

It's not consistent or reliable. You can't search Scorched Earth except with Skyla so you can't play mallow on the turn you get it giving your opponent a chance to intervene by destroying it or using N if kept in hand. Stadiums are easily destroyed by field blower or another stadium so sitting on one isn't reliable. And if you don't have Scorched Earth then mallow is pretty bad and can easily be a dead draw.
