Ruling Fighting Stadium Confusion

I use a dark and fighting deck, and was considering adding the card "Fighting Stadium" (Furious Fists) to my deck. I was confused about the text on the card. It does twenty damage to benched Pokemon EX? I've seen people play this card without EX Pokemon, so does it mean it can only be used to attack EX Pokemon?

Your Fighting Pokemon (EX or not) do 20 more damage to Pokemon EX (and only Pokemon EX). This card has received an errata so that it no longer affects Bench damage. If you used Landorus EX's Hammerhead attack with Fighting Stadium, and your opponent had an EX Active and on the Bench, the attack would do 50 to the Active, and only 30 to the Bench.
