Fire techs

Given that Tangrowth X isn't going to be released in 6 months time and thus you shouldn't worry too much...

I'll tell you to play a REAL deck, and not Gechamp.

could you stop, if he wants to play it, he will, and theres nothing you can do about it, machamp was made for a reason, SP's would rampage otherwise.
it's called balance, google it, maybe you'll learn something.

to the OP: maybe houndoom G, it only needs 1 dark energy.
or heat rotom?

magmortar from potf?
PS:RB,i dont get why you should be so rude...

magmortar only use conditions, which doesn't help here.

i'm being so rude because every time lou hears machamp, he just rages, he doesn't even allow us to play machamp at league.
which is quite wierd cause all players can face machamp at tournaments too, and they aren't prepared because lou won't let us play machamp.

what do you mean, won't let you??? that's absurd, you can't keep people from playing anything at league, that's the purpose of it being an UNLIMITED format, meaning there's no limit to what you can play...and you might want to watch that, I've heard of leagues getting shut down for stuff like that

I still fail to see what the big deal is about Machamp and Gengar, neither are unstoppable, both are easily countered...if anything SP decks are the cheap decks, small costs, all basics, and shutting down everything except SP's....it's as though PUSA is saying we want you to play SP decks right now, so we will make it so SP decks have an advantage most decks didn't have before

people can stop with the Ma"cheap" and Ge"cheap" stuff...build your deck for endurance, and you won't have to worry about getting donk'd

Care to:
1. Reason that GeChamp will still be around then or if Tangrowth will be majorly used when it comes out
2. Mark the reason that Tangrowth has the upper hand vs GeChamp.
3. Consider that a fire tech would even help the matchup instead of just slowing you down.
4. Note the possible rotations (if there is one) that might change everything anyway.

It's too much healing. Tangrowth SF and Nidoqueen are beasts. You NEED a quick win or it's all over me. It's EVIL. Only loss at brs. beside, Noone saw Rambolt coming, just because noone plays it anymore doesn't mean it's not a good deck. Sheesh. and GeChamp runs a few multi energy anyway.

From the things I hear, I'd love it if Lou visited my league. It seems most of California is full of Macheap. Anyway, I'd try to use a fire type that can hit early game.

I'd reccommend just for a cheap fire tech, maybe HeatRotom or Fire Arceus, both are quick setupers and don't serve any other purpose. Also I despise Machamp but I'm not too rude about, I still wish people would win with something else though..

Its Mother Gengar with a substantialized Machamp tech. Not Built for donk, just a nice bonus.
I thought about rotom, it also beats Kingdra. i still like more ideas. A fire tech also helps against Speedrill too, Zyflair.

I would like it if you would keep your lies to yourself, thank you very much.

a REAL deck? Like Snorlax or Shiftry?

What's your problem with Gechamp? That it wins?

i don't think that there really is a way to slip a fire type tech into GeChamp without ruining the consistency. And when a tech hurts your consistency, it isn't worth using.

It wins? Funny, didn't see a single one better as 3-4 at Nationals.
No, my problem is that its a deck relying on coin flips and donks, nothing else.
Anyway, as has been posted quite a lot already, a fire tech that can just go in any deck is hard to come by. There is Houndoom G but aside from that, not much. Simply because most Fire types take at least 2 Fire energy to do anything reasonable.

A good deck doesn't rely on coin flips or donks. Fainting Spell is more of a bonus/throws the opponent's strategy off. What Nationals are you talking about? Dutch nationals?

Well, how about this: In the Worlds Qualifier in JAPAN (which includes PotF cards), GeChamp won. It was also pretty much the same as it is today (with Relicanth tech and VS Seeker from what I saw).

In Juniors. That's not exactly the best judge of a metagame.

running Houndoom in Gechamp though, will hurt consistency. You'd have to throw in 1-2 darks in order for it to attack. All of this could be fixed if Pokemon allowed us a sideboard.
