Day -1 (Thursday):
I call my mom at around noon, and I don't remember how, but the topic of regionals somehow comes up. Eventually, we get to the point where she says I can go. I hang up the phone, dash over to my computer, quickly select all of the cards I need on Troll and Toad, and order at 2:00 with 3 hours to spare before their last shipment of the day. I then find a hotel we can stay at and my mom reserves it. Talk about last minute planning.
Day 0 Friday:
I wake up at noon and see my cards have arrived. I freak out when I only see the playmat and deck box in the package. After spazzing out for 10 minutes, I find the cards underneath the deck box. I breath a sigh of relief, open them, put them all in sleeves, and pack up. I leave at around 8:00, and I arrive at the hotel at about 10:30.
Day 1 Saturday:
After barely getting any sleep, I wake up really early to make sure I don't get there late. I sent a text to Glaceon to make sure he has the cards I need, then arrive at the convention center an hour and a half early. After realizing I'm the first one there, I chill at the hotel for an hour before going back and waiting on line. At this point, I'm freaking out because Glaceon hadn't responded and I was scared I wouldn't get the cards I needed. At 7:50, after I had registered (they started registration a bit early) I get the text from Glace, I stop freaking out, and sit around for a while checking out merchandise. Glaceon arrives 10 minutes later, I get the cards I need from him, and I play a practice game against him and Futa, who I also met 10 minutes after that. Pairings go up, and I'm excited to start the first tournament in my life.
Round 1 vs. Zekeels/Zebstrika
I start Tynamo and go second. We got set up early, and so I have nervous breakdowns for the next ten minutes hoping he doesn't start Tyrogue. He starts a lone Blitzle, so I stop spazzing (again). He attaches an energy and passes. I collector for two more Tynamos and a Thundurus. I attach to Thundy, switch it to the active, and Charge. He attaches another energy and hits me for 20. I attach a third energy and donk him for the win.

Round 2 vs. Durant
I start Zekrom EX, she goes first, get's the T1 Collector, and Devour's 4 cards turn 1. I manage to collector also, but I never manage to get a normal Zekrom going, which is what I need, and I get uber destroyed by decking out with three prizes still left to take.

Round 3 vs. The Truth without Vileplume
He goes first with a Shaymin EX, a terrible start. He collectors and passes. I start Thundurus, level ball twice, attach and charge. The game goes by normally, although he had this weird strategy and filled up his whole bench with really high HP attackers and Reuniclus early on. I never manage to kill the Reuniclus, but I nab a ton of easy prizes off of extra solosis and the Shaymin EX, and end up having a fully charged Zekrom up with and nothing else to work with. He has 2 Mewtwos on his bench. We both keep drawing, and I keep attacking with Zekrom but I can't KO anything because of Reuniclus. I finally draw into the Junk Arm, Dynamoter 3 times on to the Mewtwo which I had been keeping in my hand, attach a DCE, retreat, and Junk Arm for the catcher so I can murder his Mewtwo on the bench for the game.

Round 4 vs. Lucario/Reshiram/Typhlosion/Mewtwo/A ton of other attackers
This game.....ugh. I start Cleffa, and he draws into the collector and donks me with Mewtwo for the game. I was really annoyed because I would have easily won otherwise, I think I was one of two opponents he beat overall.

Round 5 vs. The Truth
I don't remember what he started with, but I didn't realize it was the truth until very late. I nab a few KO's off of stuff on the bench with catchers, then he proceeds to collector for two Oddish, one of which I catcher KO, but then he Twins and sets up Vileplume. He gets the Reuniclus set up too and all I can do is watch as he owns my whole field with Regigigas and other insanely high HP attackers. This was the only loss I considered completely skill based.

I now know I can't make cut, but I try my best the next two rounds anyway.
Round 6 vs. Yanmega/Lando
He has a fantastic set up and gets the Lando and the Yanmega going very quickly. However, I get two Eels going, and begin destroying his team with Zekroms and Thundurus. He eventually gets a Mewtwo to kill a Thundurus I was using, but I immediately drop a Mewtwo to KO his. He has another on the bench, but he can't get it set up on time. I switch Mewtwo out to Cleffa on my bench, Dynamoter, attach another DCE, retreat and catcher his Mewtwo for the win.

Round 7 vs. Terrakion/Lando with Mewtwo
We both complain about our starters before we begin. He then stops complaining when I flip over Tynamo and he flips over Mewtwo, with him going first. He has the DCE, but in an unbelievable display of sportsmanship, realizing that neither of us can win any prizes anyway, he decides to play out the game instead of donking me. He drops a Smeargle and a Skyarrow Bridge and we play out a full game. We both trade prizes until he KO's my final Eel and I'm in a tight spot. He manages to get down to one prize, however, I bring up a eviolited Zekrom and he has no Terrakions charged. I catcher his stuff around to stop him from attacking, as he had already burned away all of his switch, DCE, and Junk Arm. I get him down to three cards left in his deck....and the judge calls time. He wins because of timeout with zero cards left in his deck :[
Final record: 3-4
Place: 60th
Glaceon goes into the Top 16, so I wait around to watch a bit. We then have to leave to go back home, so I say my goodbyes to Glaceon, Futa, Glaceon's brother, and Afro before leaving.

My first Regionals as a Senior is also my last one as a Senior... I have to be a Master next year :[
