Reading another thread in this Forum got me to thinking about a game I had with my son last weekend when he attached a multi energy to flygon SW and tried to do the extra 20 for Sandsonic
"If you attach a (F) Energy card from your hand to Flygon during your turn, this attack does 60 damage plus 20 more damage"
I told him that a multi did not count as a (F) energy card, the word card implied that it must be the basic. I think this is the wrong interpretation, as if it needed to be basic, the card would have to say basic.
However, I think the ruling is still right, reading the text on multi-energy, because of the phrase. "While in play, Multi Energy provides every type of energy", hence (F) energy was not attached from the hand, (*) energy was. It only became (F) energy once it was in play.
Am I right, or can multi energy (or DRE for that matter) in fact add the extra 20 damage to Sand Sonic.
Thanks in advance.
