I wasn't sure if I should turn this into a poll or not but I decided not to so I could just see everyone's actual point of view instead of selecting from limited choices.
Anyways, the Pokemon TCG Game has had dual types with Delta and Dark Pokemon combining other types with either Darkness or Steel types. We've yet to see more in these dual types, such as a Fire/Fighting Blaziken, but I really doubt that will happen, at least right now. I would like to see more cards focussing on a Pokemon's secondary type, and it surprised me how many Pokemon types went ignored. Some may seem unusual (Like a Grass Gengar) and others are not included because of a more elemetal attribute (Like the lack of a colorless Zapdos, despite it being flying).
So, here's the list of Pokemon that (As far as I know) have yet to have their second type put on a card:
Colorless*: Butterfree, Gyarados, Scyther, Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres promo card doesn't count), Ledian, Xatu, Jumpluff, Yamna, Murkrow, Gligar, Skarmory, Beautifly, Pelipper, Mantine, Masquerain, Ninjask, Tropius
Water: Lanturn (Dual Type PokeBody doesn't count), Sneasel, Surskit, Whiscash
Grass: Gengar, Qwilfish, Scizor (Hidden Legends was a great opportunity for a Grass/Steel Scizor), Ludicolo, Armaldo
Fighting: Steelix, Marcargo, Corsola (I THINK), Breloom, Nincada, Aggron, Camerupt, Cradily, Relicanth, Vibrava
Psychic: Sableye, Medicham, Latias, Latios
*Charizard, Crobat, Ho-Oh, and Kingdra were not included in this list because of their Crystal Type cards in the E-Card series. It still would be nice to see a colorless version of any of them printed without the Crystal Type factor.
That's basically a list of potential card ideas that were never printed before moving on to the next generation of cards. Even though the Flying Pokemon may seem unlikely to get a Colorless card of themselves, remember that both Aerodactyl and Lugia were printed in colorless type. I thought maybe the company was doing something clever when they finally printed a colorless Aerodactyl, especially in the middle of the Dark + Steel dual type craze. But now that the delta series is over and TRR isn't even in the modified format, I wonder if there's going to be any more surprises about types.
I hope that D&P doesn't shove the idea out of the way right when there's a perfect oppurtunity to introduce this idea. There's a few older Pokemon being printed in D&P anyways, so it couldn't hurt to change things up a little. I think it would be a great idea to add more options to evolution lines without creating Dual Types (The curse of hitting resistance too often) or Dual Type PokeBodies (The curse of Cessation Crystals and the like).
Yeah, there have been two different cards with different types of the same Pokemon (Swampert for example, had a Water and Fighting card of himself), and some may be thinking that the list above is no big deal. That may have some truth, but I think that some things are being overlooked because the cards may seem less practical (Printing so many colorless Pokemon because they have a secondary flying type) or some other reason. I mean, look at Gengar. He's been around since the first generation and there's no Grass type to represent his Poison side.
Well, I posted this to show everybody what can be done at this point and to get their viewpoint on the idea. It can be a great idea, but unfortunately there's no realistic way we could probably make it happen, so all we can do is discuss the idea. So the question is, does anyone think that this is being recognized at all?
