Ruling Foreign Cards

Hey

I recently read that foreign cards are banned from organized play. Is this true? If so, is it all cards, or only ones that haven't had an English equivalent released?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm from Canada, but am living in Japan for another 6 months or so. I really want to buy cards here, but not if they will be useless (other than collecting, which I'm not really into) when I get back.

Yes they are banned. You can only use the english and french printed cards in Canada. So no other language prints, including the energies.

The rule on what language of cards you can use is that you can only use local-language cards - for example in the US you may use only English cards in tournaments, but in Canada you may use English or French cards, and so on.
