Ruling Fossils in DP

If you draw a Fossil into your hand at the start of the game, must you play it as Basic if you have no other Basic's in your hand or can you opt to redraw (conceding your opponet a card) given that the Fossil is a trainer while in your deck or in your hand.

It's now allowed as your initial Pokémon. I think. I'm not sure about the alternative of shuffling again.

If you get a fossil in your starting hand, you must play it even if you don't have any other basics in your hand. You can't choose to reshuffle.

Fossils are basic pokemon...

-While in your initial setup hand
-While in play (on the table)

Fossils are trainer cards...

-While in your hand (not setup)
-While in your discard pile
-While in your deck

obviously u must play it it counts as a basic pokemon too think again ,what if u face a player who plays a fossil deck? there he must play fossils right, there the problem solved.
