i bought a structure deck from the new set when fossils came out and in it was a document saying that when you have the fossil card and the basic in hand you can play the trainer card and then play the revived pokemon from your hand not checking the bottom 7 cards of your deck for it, is this true

plus are revived pokemon classified as basics thus for if i use pokemon collector can i bring revived pokemon to the hand

sorry no pics laptop bit fussy at mo

Revived pokemon are NOT basics. You may not use pokemon collector to search them out.

The rules insert with the structure deck is wrong. And it isn't the first time. I think they must have the interns write those. You may only bring a revived pokemon into play by finding in the bottom 7 cards of your deck.

We've actually answered this question already for you in the stickied FAQ thread.

Q. How do the new Fossil cards and Restored Pokemon work, anyway?
A. Restored Pokemon can only be placed on the Bench with the effect of the respective Fossil card (e.g. Tirtouga -> Cover Fossil); you cannot play the Restored Pokemon from your hand onto your Bench. When you play the Fossil card, you do as it says - look at the bottom 7 cards of your deck. If you do find the Restored Pokemon there, you may play it directly onto your Bench. If you do not, the Fossil Item card ends without effect and you shuffle your deck, then discard the Fossil Item card.
