Personally, I am a fan of Alternate formats, such as U150 and the recent C/UC format that's started on this website. I was wondering if you knew of any other fun alternate formats, or ones that you made yourself!

Personally, I am a fan of Alternate formats, such as U150 and the recent C/UC format that's started on this website. I was wondering if you knew of any other fun alternate formats, or ones that you made yourself!

Just checking; are you aware of

• 2-on-2
  
• 30-Card
• Team Battle

Though they are not legal options for sanctioned tournaments, they are recognized by TPCi; you can actually find them in the Play! Pokémon Trading Card Game Rules and Formats document, available on the Play! Pokémon Rules & Resource page. In reverse order, Team Battle is when you have two two-player teams that face each other in a four-player match, all at once. 30-card limits decks to 30 cards. 2-On-2 has each player select two Pokémon to be Active (instead of one).

As for totally unofficial formats, I like playing Base Set through Fossil with Super Energy Removal and Energy Removal banned. My preliminary testing suggested it might feature more varied decks than the actual Base Set through Fossil format, but it was mostly me testing against myself. XP
