Hello all!
I regularly play Pokémon TCG among friends for fun - obviously.
We mostly play the old skool TCG (Base Set - Neo) for nostalgic reasons,
but I've moved on to the modern day TCG and TCGO as well recently, as I really enjoy the much more complex and diverse deck building strategies.
A lot of the newer cards (like Shaymin EX etc.) have some really cool abilities to build around, but I just have zero affinity or whatsoever with the newer gen Pokémon (no hate). Wondering if you guys can recommend any fun modern day decks/ideas that feature exclusively Gen 1 & 2 Pokémon?
For example I like the starter theme decks you get in the PTCGO. But I particularly like the Crushing Current one, how it's centered around the Sky Field - Raichu 1-2 punch, which can still compete with most modern day decks.
Another one that really appeals to me is the Gengar - Bats combo that revolves around Golbat/Crobat's sneak attack ability to strike the opponent by surprise and set up Gengar and his Creep Show attack for the easy kill.
Any other nostalgic mastermind decks floating out there? Curious to hear yours ..!
