Strategy:

Hello, 1st deck list, currently what I'm using.

Basic strategy, power plays with Camerupt/Houndoom + Blacksmith to archive 4+ fire energy on discard pile, potentially using the new Fire Special Energy. Fiery Torch, scorch earth, battle compressor, torchic, pyroar, volcarona, all of them in one way or another dump energy to discard pile, which makes my Blacksmith go alive. Only bad hand this deck is opening with multiple copies of stuff like liyssandre and blacksmith (the irony) or getting items that don't benefit me til mid to late such as recycler, pal pad .

Blacksmith will grab fire special energy as well, so even if it goes to discard pile, you still benefit of it, can even dump it with battle compressor for insta +2 energy/ 3 in one turn

Quick number rundown, Camerupt does 200 (50 x discard fire energy) damage by discarding 4 fire energy, the new special energy enables auto recycling, so he is ready to go for another 200 if he doesn't get killed.

Houndoom does discard 2 top cards from opponent deck, or 50 damage at 2 energy, with the option of adding one from discard pile.

MHoundoom does base 80, +80 if you discard all fire energy attached to it. Potentially you want to have special fire energy attached to him, for the constant recycle.

Question and Feedback are more than welcome!

Except it isn't treated as a Fire Energy while in the discard pile. It is only treated as a {R} energy while attached to a {R} Pokemon.

I'm also planning on playing a Houndoom deck although my list is significantly different than yours in that mine is very aggressive. It really feels like you are trying to do too much with the deck. Torchic just isn't a good Pokemon in the deck. Its damage output is low and requires a flip. Its basically a free prize card for your opponent. Volcarona also seems to be limited in use because all it seems to do is get your other basic Pokemon. This frees up 3 slots which allows you to put in another 1-1 M-Houndoom EX and a Houndoom Spirit link. You really don't want your turn to end when you mega evolve your Houndoom EX.

The trainer / stadium / supporter line needs quite a bit of work. Steven just isn't what I'd consider a good draw supporter because it relies on your opponent to have many Pokemon in play. Professor Sycamore works much better with this deck because you want there to be fire energies in the discard pile so you can use Black Smith later to retrieve them. Professor Birch's Observations is an okay replacement, but is less optimal.

I find Fiery Torch to be a liability issue. I'd recommend cutting both of them and the Evo Sodas to put in 3 Ultra Ball and a VS Seeker. Ultra Ball not only gets you the Pokemon you need, but enables you to discard fire energies for Black Smith. VS Seeker is important so you can retrieve supporters and can potentially use Battle Compressor on one of them.

I'd also cut the Red Cards. Your strategy is to get out M-Houndoom EX or Camerupt EX and this takes away from that. The reason N could be used in older formats was because it let you draw and could also turn around the game when your opponent had only one or two prize cards. I'd also cut the Pal Pad for VS Seeker instead because usually you want to play the supporter, not just put it into your deck. This leaves two open spots. I'd suggest another Battle Compressor and a Trainers Mail. You want good counts of these to help thin your deck.

Changes Summary:
-2 Red Card
-1 Pal Pad
-2 Evo Soda
-2 Fiery Torch
-1 Larvesta
-1 Volcarona
-1 Torchic
-3 Steven
+3 Professor Sycamore
+3 Ultra Ball
+2 VS Seeker
+1 Houndoom EX
+1 M-Houndoom EX
+1 Houndoom Spirit Link
+1 Trainer's Mail
+1 Battle Compressor

To add onto the person above, I would also add Team Magnus numel and camerupt to power up camerupt Ex's attack and add Energy switch.
