Help Galarian Slowking VMAX + Teammates

Just played a game on PTCGO and wanted to make sure a mechanic was working as intended. My active Pokemon was knocked out by Galarian Slowking VMAX (by poison damage) however I was not able to play Teammates during my turn. Is it because my Pokemon wasn't technically knocked out during my opponent's last turn but rather "between turns" during Pokemon Checkup so Teammates wasn't triggered/playable?

Teammates: You can play this card only if 1 of your Pokémon was Knocked Out during your opponent's last turn.
 
OK, I found the answer to my question in the official Rules Compendium:

Q: Can I use "Teammates" if my Pokemon was KO'd due to Poison damage?
A: No, you cannot. You can only use Teammates if your Pokemon was KO'd *during* your opponent's last turn, but Poison damage takes place *in between* turns.
