I really want to play around with this idea, but I'm having trouble with keeping energy on the field. I'm thinking about trying a one of Gardevior to double the damage out put when I drop him. (I won't be relying on it, though.) I have two spaces open currently. Emolga is for filling up the Bench. Mewtwo is just a quick attacker. Plasma Frigate and Plasma Energies cover the whole decks Weakness to Mewtwo. You can OHKO Mewtwo without them being able to OHKO you back! Suggestions welcome.

I would add in 1 or 2 Gardevoir, as with Plasma Frigate the double energy helps more than hurts, and another Mewtwo. With Plasma Frigate you will win the Mewtwo war, so why not go all out?

That's a good point. If I were to add Gardevior, I think I'd need more Psychic Energies. Maybe drop a DCE and a Plasma for two as well?

I might just take out the whole Plasma Frigate/Energy combo because almost every deck that runs Mewtwo runs the Hypnotoxic Laser/Virbank combo meaning it's very easy to play around Frigate. Just spread energy around and make sure you have an answer for each Mewtwo they send up.

Whe I was playing with a friend it looked like virbank is a 3 of in most new decks, so if you decided to stick with plasma frigate and plasma energies, you really need to play three plasma frigate and just hope that they don't wait for you to play your stadiums first. And with all of the stage 2's maybe think about running 1 or 2 plamsa grunt for draw power? Don't know about the grunt, but you certainly need more plasma frigates to keep your strategy realistic. Why a 4-2-4? You could drop a kirlia and still have a solid line at 4-1-4 with the rare candies. Leaves some room for another stadium.

I'll think about taking out the Plasma Frigate, but the thing is without it, it's OHKO'd too easily, and I can't keep enough energy on the field to OHKO back. I've tried using Colress Machine and the new Team Plasma Durant just to get a boost of energy, but that didn't work like I wanted it to. I just don't see this deck being that viable without something else like Plasma Badge (which is unfortunate because I pulled a 4-2-2 Gallade at the prerelease). I wanted a 4-2-4 because I was already thinking about Gardevior. A thicker line I feel would help get both of them out quicker, but I haven't played two Stage 2's with the same Basic before.

Bump with an update and a question: Should I run Switch?

It's not like you can Catcher stall Gardevior because you retreat with your manual attachment for the turn. But that's 40 damage that I have to discard to retreat. And Switch is also good for increasing the odds of starting with Emolga. If it weren't for Switch, I could make room for a second Super Rod and maybe a fourth Communication.
