Hey everyone, my Gameboy Advanced SP went through the wash and now it doesn't want to turn on. I am figuring that it is because of the water, but is there anyway to fix it? Also, I had the game "Pokemon TCG" in it, would that still work? If it doesn't is there anyway to fix it? (idk if this is the right section for this or not, if it isn't, could you please move it Mods?)

Thanks for your guy's help! :)

I'm not sure if I can help you, but I'm curious, did you put it through the dryer? I've had some of my games washed before and some of them come out okay, but I think that's because they also went through the dryer. Don't take my word for it though. If it really doesn't work then you may just have to send it in to get it fixed.

I've had ds games through through washer And dryer and they've come out fine (thank god diamond, pearl, pretty much all my pokemon games at one time or another) lol. Meaning try the dryer, if it REALLY is broken permanently it wouldn't Hurt ya know. Also afro I don't know if thet still do GBA repair..that's kinda old XD

I've had DS/GBA games go through the wash, they came out fine, but never a system. I'd say like take it apart/remove the back, blow dry it or put it in a bag with rice and seal it and wait a few days. Best of luck!

DO NOT TURN YOUR GAMES ON!

Wait until they are FULLY dried, and then they SHOULD work. (The games at least)

If your GBA Won't work, then you'll probably have to send it in.

Chances are it's the battery; my cousin's gone through this multiple times because of her mischievous brother :p. If water comes into contact with the system, the battery shorts, and hence the system doesn't turn on – the system's not broken, the battery's just dead (the Li-Ion component's liquid solvent becomes useless and "drains" the power so that it can't recharge). So for a quick fix, there's a chance it'll fix itself if you dry out the battery, or you could simply buy a new one (I just bought one for my brother's SP, they're like a buck or two on Amazon, I don't think Radio Shack sells them anymore though). If it still doesn't work I'd assume you'd want to send it in then, though from own experience, it's much cheaper to bring the Game Boy to a local repair shop than to send it in to Nintendo themselves, if you know a shop that can work with those kinds of electronics, worst case scenario they'll just swap out a few parts; though if they can't find a problem with it or can't fix it, many repair shops (and Nintendo) will just replace the system (for Nintendo at least it ends up being cheaper than fixing it), so if for whatever reason you don't want to part with your current hardware, that'd be something you'd want to bring up with any customer service.
