Garbodor/Mewtwo Ex/Registeel Ex/Cobalion Ex

So im VERY new to Pokemon TCG.. just started getting into it last month. Did some research.. looked up some decks most people used in Regionals/Worlds, Picked one i liked and tried my best to get the cards and make my own variation.

This is what i got:

Pokemon:

2x Registeel Ex
2x Cobalion Ex
4x Mewtwo Ex
3-2x Garbodor

Trainers:

4x N
4x Juniper
2x Ultra ball
1x Scramble Switch
3x Pokemon Catcher
4x Skyla
3x Laser
2x Eviolite
3x Float stone
2x Colress
2x Energy Search
2x Heavy ball
2x Switch
1x Max Potion

Energy:
4x Double Colorless
8x Metal Energy

Strategy:
Pretty much my main focus is to counter most of the popular decks and use Mewtwo to X-Ball as much and strong as possible.. Garbodor to counter decks that focus on abilities to win.. and Registeel Ex to take out decks that are stage 2 heavy. I threw Cobalion Ex in the mix to help with Plasma Decks or just Special energy heavy Decks. Plus with the 1 energy cost on Cobalions 1st skill makes for an easy T1 attack. Registeel Ex having the resistance to psychic, (plus an Eviolite) makes a decent counter against Mewtwo Ex/Deoxys Ex, least it can hold its own for a little till i build my mewtwo and switch it in and with Scramble Switch i can easily switch out a hurt mewtwo/registeel and just throw all the energy on a new mewtwo/registeel. Laser to help with getting early knock outs or in case of lock down by garbodor.

i know alot of people seem to hate on Garbodor since people say its an easy deck to counter, well i like that its underrated, to me, that keeps everything interesting. Anyway, feel free to discuss about this build.. why it would suck, what makes it viable.. what i could switch out to improve etc etc

[Edit#1] -Thanks to IceCascade I have decided to try out [( Metal energy instead of psychic. )]
[Edit#2] -Thanks to Nigel I took away [( -2 Cilan -2 Energy Retrieval -1 Switch -1 Escape Rope -2 Eviolite -1 Energy Switch )]
added [( +4 Float stone +2 Pokemon catcher +2 Bianca +1 Max Potion )]
[Edit#3] - After playing a few games decided to remove[( -1 ultra ball and -2 exp share and +3 Laser )]
[Edit#4] - Thanks IceCascade again for awesome advice +Added [(+2 skyla +2 Heavy ball +2 Colress +2 Cobalion ex +2 Switch +2 Energy search )]
-Removed [( -1 Garbodor -1 Registeel -4 Bianca -1 Float Stone -1 Pokemon Catcher -2 Energy Switch -2 Potion )]

And Thanks for reading :D

RE: Garbodor/Mewtwo ex/Registeel ex

Why psychic energy?
Mewtwo is to be abused for its first attack, most probably you won't be using the second one. Most of the time you will be using Registeel's second attack, because it is more... tank (-40 damage is no joke. Plus, you play potions too!), so basic metal it is.

I have no idea which Trubbish you're taking, though. The one worthy using is only Trubbish NVI's garbage collection attack, which costs only [C]. You don't really need Pile Up Trubbish nor Tool Drop Trubbish. So basic metal only actually is viable.

If for some reason you find yourself you need to attack with Mewtwo's 2nd attack, include prism as well.

hmm to by quite honest i never really considered using registeels 2nd attack so im going to deff take this into consideration. i figured this deck would have more faults besides the energy though xD

Thanks so much for your reply!

RE: Garbodor/Mewtwo ex/Registeel ex

First off, why do you play Cilan? It isn't very good, especially since you can only attach one energy per turn (the only deck that Cilan CAN be played in is Blastoise/Keldeo/Black Kyurem, and as a one-of). Also, 4 Pokemon Catchers are staples in every single deck, since it's basically a free KO. You only play 2.

-2 Cilan (A terrible card)
-2 Energy Retrieval (Not needed in decks besides Blastoise/Keldeo)
-1 Switch (for Float Stone)
-1 Escape Rope (for Float Stone)
-2 Eviolite (for Float Stone)
-1 Energy Switch (You already play EXP Share and 2 more of these, so it's not needed)

+2 in any combination of Skyla and Bianca (it's really a personal preference. Both are good supporters)
+2 Pokemon Catcher (Free KO, it's a staple)
+4 Float Stone (Just came out in Plasma Freeze- it's a staple in every Garbodor list now. It allows you to free retreat Garbodor as well as other Pokemon.
+1 Rescue Scarf (Helps you get your Garbodors Back if they die)

I used energy retrieval just in case i had alot of energy on a pokemon and it got knocked out without me having exp share or something else up to save the energy.
But ill give it a try and remove them.

Reducing Energy switch to 2 i can do as well since i just wanted to raise the chance of getting one each game.

Float Stone is my only issue.. i would have to find one and seeing Plasma freeze isnt out till tomorrow ill prob have trouble getting 4 right away.

I originally had rescue scarf but figured with exp shares and eviolites (now float stones) i had plenty tools needed for his ability, yes with 1 i could save him if he gets knocked out, but the probability of having one when garb is up is so slim i rather not even add it, thinking maybe a Max Potion Instead ?
will add 2 more pokemon catchers though for sure!

Thanks soooo much for the response! guess ill start swapping out cards and looking for Float stones >.<

RE: Garbodor/Mewtwo ex/Registeel ex

So.. this deck's not working as well as i thought it would.. at 1st i would just end up with wayyyyy to many trainers in hand every turn so i took out 2 tools and added in 2 lasers.. now i just can never seem to get a balanced hand.. either wayy to many energy and no pokemon( and when i use a trainder like juniper/N/bianca i just get more energy).. or all my EXs and no energy.
now i can see why every one uses landorus cause that 1 energy cost is really nice. and even with the float stones i still found myself needing to add in a switch just in case they pulled out a benched that only had eviolite on it. Now granite ive only been testing this deck online but still.. i cant imagine it being that different in real life.. maybe im just lacking the pvp experience on different strategies.. or maybe this deck needs alot more work.

either way.. going back to the drawing board.

The decks i played agaisnt this were darkrai/sab, plasma deoxys/thundurus , and a mewtwo/landorus/bouf

Am now 4 wins out of 7 games played.. taking out the exp shares for 2 lasers helped slightly.

RE: Garbodor/Mewtwo ex/Registeel ex

Landorus EX is ok.. You can include them but expect some trouble with PlasmaBox since many will tech in Kyurem PLF to counter Landorus. With 2 Deoxys EX on bench or HypnoBank, Kyurem PLF can 2HKO you within first 2 turns.
Plus, adding Landorus EX will hurt your deck's consistency since you add in another attacker with different energy type. I would say no preferably, although including Landorus isnt necessarily a bad thing.

On to your decklist,
Too much bianca. It isnt a card you should play 4-of. Colress is a much better supporter imo. And skyla is just too amazing in a deck that you should max it to max consistency.
-4 Bianca
+2 Colress
+2 Skyla
Now i see your problem, either your hand too many pokemon or too many energy, this is where skyla comes in. You can skyla for energy search to get energy, or skyla for ultra ball if you need one. That being said,
-2 energy switch
+2 energy search
-1 Registeel EX (mewtwo EX should be your starter since with DCE you can T1 X-Ball)
-1 Max potion
-1 Garbodor
+3 Heavy balls (searches for registeel EX and garbodor. Great for consistency)
You need switch. Yes. 4 float stone is too much
-2 Float stone
+2 Switch
Then you need to up your tool count since you play garbodor.
-2 Potion (least important than everything in the deck)
+2 Tool (giant cape/rescue scarf are equally good)

Your list should look like this now.
Pokemon:
2x Registeel Ex
4x Mewtwo Ex
3-2x Garbodor
Trainers:
4x N
4x Juniper
4x Skyla
2x Colress
2x Ultra ball
3x Heavy ball
1x Scramble Switch
4x Pokemon Catcher
3x Laser
2x Eviolite
2x Float stone
2x Switch
2x Giant Cape/Rescue Scarf
2x Energy Search
Energy:
4x Double Colorless
8x Metal Energy

IF you want to play Landorus EX,
-2 Mewtwo EX
-2 Energy search
+3 Landorus EX
-6 Metal energy
+4 Blend WLFM
+3 Fighting energy
I dont recommend it though. The energy line becomes rather inconsistent, and weak to enhanced hammer and Cobalion EX.

Not sure if my suggestion is better though, but hope it helps abit.

THis is an awesome suggestion, deff going to make some swaps and try it out.. but yea I really dont want to use landorus and if I did deff just remove registeel all together but I enjoy this metal build.. but I was thinking of just adding two/three cobalion ex to this mix to counter new plasma decks since it takes away a special energy every attack for only one metal.. what do you think of that ?

MAybe 2 registeel and 2 cobalion so I can choose which to play. That would deff make for great options vs alot of different decks

RE: Garbodor/Mewtwo ex/Registeel ex

Ok so these are the changes i made:

+2 skyla
+2 Heavy ball
+2 Colress
+2 Cobalion ex
+2 Switch
+2 Energy search

-1 Garbodor
-1 Registeel
-4 Bianca
-1 Float Stone
-1 Pokemon Catcher
-2 Energy Switch
-2 Potion

And so far i have won 5 out of 6 Online, 3 of those matches against plasma decks.
