Garchomp/Altaria/Dugtrio

This is another idea I had after watching one of pooka's videos.

Pokemon
  • 4-3-4 Garchomp
  • 3-3 Altaria
  • 2-2 Dugtrio
  • 1 Mr Mime
  • 1 Jirachi EX

Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums
  • 3 Juniper
  • 3 N
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Shauna
  • 2 Colress
  • 4 Level ball
  • 3 Rare Candy
  • 2 Tool Scrapper
  • 2 Super Rod
  • 3 Silver Bangle
  • 1 Dowsing Machine

Energy
  • 6 Fighting
  • 4 Blend (WFML)

Strategy

The strategy is the same strategy as other Garchomp builds, but with the upcoming Dugtrio to deal with opposing Darkrai. Two Altarias + a Dragon Blade lets Garchomp take out all the 130HP basics and a silver bangle lets it deal with the 170HP EXes. Thanks to it's Dragon typing, it can take out BKEX no problem. The special energy discard stops Lugia which leaves Darkrai EX. Bangle + Earthquake = dead Darkrai for one energy.

Edited to coincide with the rules! :D ~Kecleon

So you can have 6 pokemon in play total. (5 bench, 1 active) so 2 garchomp, 2 altaria, 1 Mr. mime, and 1 dugtrio. but if you decide to use jirachi, you'll have 1 less space for a support/attack pokemon. Therefore this deck can take a lot of setup time and space. If you cut Altaria you'll be in a lot less of a pinch for bench space

-3-3 altaria
+4 Hypnotoxic Laser
+2 Virbank

Laserbanks can replace 3/4 of the of the damage 2 altaria can do and that's just going into your opponent's turn. It can be 30 more going back into your turn if they don't get out of the active spot. and lasers don't require bench space allowing you to set up more Dugtrios and garchomps.
Hope this helped!!!

Dugtrio isnt going to be much help since most dark decks will probably switch over to using Dark Circle which prevents weakness. Dug and Terrakion wont see much play. I'd suggest you adjust accordingly.

Laserbanks are too valuable for darkrai decks to lose. I think darkrai decks will play only 1 to 2 of these dark circles at the most, and you can counter these with your virbanks, but who knows. Only time will tell.

I had just realized after posting this how that new stadium ruins the Dugtrio strategy. Too bad, because it would have been really good in another format. It would probably be better to just replace the Dugtrio's with another Altaria line and a couple more supporters. Either that or find something to take out for a counter stadium (too bad tropical beach has to be so expensive).
