Gardevoir Lv. X. Reading it I thought it was too good to be true. So I thought about it and the perk to it. Just wanted to see if what I came up with is true.

-So let's say I have Gardevoir Lv. X as my active, and idk, a magby on my bench. And my opponent has uhh, Aggron Ex and Empoleon. I can't use Gardevoir Lv. X's attack to knock out Empoleon because technically, my magby has the lowest hp on the field right? Hence why it would say (Yours or your opponents). Is that true?

Also. Probably obvious. Does metal energy prevent against your own attacks. Lets say I have Aggron (MT) out as my active with 4 special metals, could I do 100 each turn without hurting myself? And metal energy doesn't protect against putting damage counters does it?

Okay...

1. Because it's attack means a Pokemon's remaining HP, so, if Magby has 40 more HP and your opponent's Pokemon hasonly 10 HP left, you KO that Pokemon.

2. You would not do damage to yourself, but if the attack says to put damage counters, then you get the damage.

1.- You Ko the lowest remaining HP pokemon in play, yours or your opponent. if empoleon(130 HP) has 8 damage counters or more, say bye to magby(40 HP). if empoleon has 10 damage counters or more you can KO empoleon. finally, if empoleon has the same remaining HP than magby (40 HP) you can choose wich to KO.

2.-i dont think that special metal protects aggainst your own attacks....but for sure, it do not prevent on placing damage counters, like bannete´s (SW) ghost head.

Bring Down KOs the Pokemon with the lowest remaining HP. So if you have Magby with no damage (40 HP left) and Empoleon with 30 HP left, Empoleon gets KOed. If there is a tie, you get to choose.

Read:

Damage done by attacks to the Pokemon that Metal Energy is attached to is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

It says "damage done by attacks", not "your opponent's attacks", so it will reduce self-damage from your own attacks as well.

It does not. Placing damage counters is not considered damage.
