Hey guys,

Needless to say, Gengar is my Fav Pokemon so I was pumped that a new variant came out with BT. I'm trying to make a deck centered around him but i'm having some difficulty. Below is my current deck list but I need suggestions on how to make it better for Standard.

  • 3 Haunter
  • 3 Gengar
  • 4 Gengar EX
-----------
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums - 37
-----------
  • 2 Lucky Helmet
  • 4 Dimension Valley
  • 2 Rare Candy
  • 3 Skyla
  • 2 Professor Letter
  • 3 Professor Birch Observations
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Pokemon Fan Club
  • 1 Sycamore
  • 2 Team Flare Grunt
  • 2 Judge
  • 2 Vs Seeker
  • 2 Trainers Mail
  • 1 Startling Megaphone
  • 2 Evosoda
  • 3 Enhanced Hammer

Energy - 10
------------
  • 10 Psychic Energy

One other question, can I use Repeat Ball with Gengar Ex on the field to pull reg. Gengar from my deck?

I think you can't since it's not the same pokemon; the same as you can't evolve your stage 2 Gengar into M Gengar EX (it says that evolves from Gengar EX instead of Gengar)

Talking about the deck, I would quit some Skyla and both Judges and include 3 Professor Sycamore, to increasse the speed of the deck.

I just tested it, if I have Gengar Ex out I can use Repeat Ball to pull Gengar BT. However it doesnt work the other way around.

Btw, have you ever considered running Bats as a means to getting the 3 damage counters onto an opponent's Pokémon? Just curious.

It would also be helpful to know your particular game strategy in using your deck. Then, other players can then provide constructive feedback that is in alignment with your direction.
