Ok this is my first post so please be patient. I was playing at a cc running a gentomb deck I ran into another gentomb deck in the top cuts. I attacked with curse gengar to there sf gengar for a ko I then switched my gengar to the bench but the judge said his feinting spell happened first. Wouldn't gengar switch first just like the ruling on uxie? Thanks in advance to any of your help I just really fealt cheated out of my win down there

It does not matter in this case. Hit-and-run attacks that pull your attacking Pokémon to the bench do not protect your Pokémon from Fainting Spell. The only damaging attacks that do protect from FS are those like Uxie LA's or Shuppet PT's (which put your Pokémon back in the deck and hand, respectively). Additionally, attacks that place damage counters do not trigger Fainting Spell.

Per the compendium:

compendium said:
Q. If Gengar is KO'd by a Pokemon using some kind of hit & run attack, does Gengar's "Fainting Spell" Poke-POWER target the new Defending Pokemon or the one that just attacked?
A. The one that attacked and went to the bench would be KO'd if Gengar flips heads. (Oct 30, 2008 PUI Rules Team)

The difference between Shadow Skip and Psychic Restore is that Shadow Skip just moves Gengar to the bench, whereas Psychic Restore completely removes Uxie from play. If the Pokemon is no longer in play, Fainting Spell can't target it. However, since if Shadow Skip Gengar is still in play after doing damage, Fainting Spell can still target it.

In regards to what happens first, technically, the effect of Shadow Skip's switch effect does happen first, HOWEVER Fainting Spell still triggers after that for the above reasons.
