The Eon ticket is going to be distribute only in US .. once again we will have to beg for others to give it to us.
Don't really understand how it suppose to work.. if I am in Europe can i active street pass and receive the ticket from someone from USA? and after that other people will be able to get eon ticket from street passing me?

~ Please keep in mind that this thread is for discussing the Eon Tickets, not for simply posting if you just got it. ~ Dedenne :)

RE: Get the Eon Ticket via StreetPass! Only if you live in US?

It only says how it'll be started in the US, but that doesn't mean it's US only. I'd be really surprised if there weren't some kind of European distribution.

Most likely there will be a European distribution. I just don't understand how that street pass thing is working so I thought this is something that will begin from US and will be spread to the world unless that street pass is like, literally while I pass someone on the street. then its US only until they will make a distribution in Europe ..But then I will have to find someone who has it in my area ? That will be nearly impossible for me to get if that is the case.. Basically my point is : Is this ticket obtainable only with local street passing and not wifi ? If so, then I will never get it. :(

The UK distribution is already confirmed, as are many others.
You can find out what other countries are doing it simply by changing the region (Select a Country) on the link you posted.

Thats the thing, I am from Israel. So if this Eon ticket is exclusively to the countries listed on the site and nobody will be able to share with me a ticket without being in my area I will not be able to have this ticket..

I hope that I am missing something and its not like that. I completed with myself the fact that I cannot enjoy local events around the world but I think that the Eon ticket is a really big part of the game..

Why can't they do this by serial code or straight Wi-Fi? Once again I will not be able to get the event. I don't know anyone near me with street pass or even spot pass.:)

I suppose street pass is the modern equivalent of mixing records, the old way of passing the Eon Ticket on to other players. And if I remember right, it took me something like three years to find someone who had gotten it via e-card. So I guess they're continuing having player interaction as the means to obtains the ticket.

For me at least, grocery stores and GameStop are where I pass by someone with Streetpass the most.

Its just annoying how we are in the Wifi age and yet the Eon ticket can be obtained only in certain countries and if you are not from any of these countries then you just have no way to get it unless you want to fly to one of those countries.. I thought that we passed that age of being neglected by Nintendo because we are from countries that are not named US Japan Europe or Australia but I guess me and others like me are so few that this will never bother anyone at Gamefreak :(

I wonder what exactly the Eon Ticket will unlock in ORAS? If its just to get Soul Dew or even Lati@site, it isn't all that bad, but if it its a hidden island that you can explore, its a completely stupid move. Locking content and expecting the "zombie outbreak" steetpass method to spread the key is asinine. Its stuff like this that make people that are true fans of the games, resort to cheat devices to get content they otherwise could not access.

Whatever happened to Wi-Fi events?
Like, let the ones who have access to Wi-Fi get the Eon Ticket and those who hadn't gotten it yet or couldn't can still get it what with the Streetpass feature.

It's one thing if Nintendo does this to showcase the Streetpass feature and makes it available via either serial code (Arceus, I beg thee let this not be truth) or Wi-Fi event (Let this be the awesome truth, Arceus). However, it's another if Nintendo ONLY distributes the Eon Ticket through this and some other events, because there is NO chance of getting the Eon Ticket unless you're in well populated areas or areas well known for Nintendo hosted events.

... Point is, I really hope they will just make a Wi-Fi event, I really don't want to go to Gamestop for an event item.

It's an event item where you're able to catch the opposite Eon Duo that you'd normally couldn't get in the game you are playing. Like if you were playing Ruby, you couldn't get Latias and Sapphire, you couldn't get Latios unless you got the Eon Ticket.

It was the only way to really hunt the Eon Duo without the hassle.

Thats right, many people just have no other option but to hack and overall Its just annoying really.. Even if not having the eon ticket is not that bad I really want to fully enjoy and be able to play all the features the game has. But again, here is another game I am going to pay the full price for.. well.. not full game.
This is so annoying also because by doing this, they are almost confirming that they will do this street pass distribution again for another event, completely ignoring the modern wifi way to distribute not only to the entire world, but also to not bother your fans to get something they payed for and force them to walk around far from their home and hope that the event will fall on them from the sky.

I really just don't get it..

All I can say is.. hopefully those who were chosen to start spreading the events actually have streetpass enabled or someone to even spread to.

It's a nice concept but it can either go really badly from the start, or really well later on... but I guess everyone will be using a powersave anyway.

You could obtain the soul dew without the event in the originals correct?

In the originals, you had to go to the Southern Island and do the Lati@s event there to get it. In HG/SS you needed to do the Enigma Stone event to get it. However in b2w2 you can get it immediately after catching Lati@s. (which is the only time you can get it ingame without needing an event)

Yeah. Why can they distribute the event over Wi-Fi? It makes no sense to go backwards in time just to do the event the old exact same way as we did in the original 3rd gen games. It is like why go backwards and do the same thing for any event when we now have internet access and have the access to download the event.:)

I think they're really trying to encourage players to interact with each other as individuals and help each other out.
Look what they did with the Vivillon patterns in XY.
Read the what's said with the closing game credits in XY.

Pokémon Company NEVER wants us to stop thinking about other players as persons.

But it's a stupid idea for areas with a bleak Pokemon scene like were I live, because I really doubt I'm going to see someone playing their 2/3DS while I'm out walking, and even then the odds of them playing XY/ORAS...no. It'd be better off just as a wifi event so I don't have to go around everywhere hoping that someone has the Eon ticket plus it would be better distribution for everybody overall. I find it unlikely many people are going to get this event.

I realize how tough it's going to be for players in rural areas or countries with few players.
I used to have to drive 80 miles to the nearest grocery store.

I think players are going to have to organize gatherings to make this work.
Maybe even short ones like Hey, the Eon Ticket will be available at the McDonald's in Winslow from 1 to 2pm today.

Those that are fortunate enough to get the tickets are going to need to make an effort to make them available wherever they go.

Those wanting the ticket are going to have to find a way to meet them.

I hope some of the Pokémon forum will start dedicated threads to make such meetings easier.

Wondering if Canadian League Leaders are going to get Eon Tickets like American League Leaders will?

It's so confusing for what Canada counts as the American market, and for what it does not.

I like the idea of organizing gatherings to spread the ticket around. Given how frustrating it was to get it the first time for me, I'd totally be up it.

Where most people live in there areas other than cities there is no way you can get these type of events without trading for the Pokemon. ZLast time they did tis event I never did get the event until the 4th gen games came out through trading and then I got the events eventually.:)
