On the way to Warrenton we get lost…
I can’t decide whether to play The Truth or EelZone. I haven’t played EelZone for very long, so I opt for The Truth. My meta is TyRam (even), EelZone (ok…), and The Truth (favorable). I decide to use The Truth because there is also some ZeT.
Round 1 vs ZeT
I actually remembered a round one :O.
I get the lock up really quickly after he takes a prize. I end up with a mediocre start after setting up, and I end up giving three prizes to be able to Twins a lot. He still has no way to knock out my Donphan, so I win.
1-0
Round 2 vs McClure: EelZone
I know he is playing EelZone, and then I have a really bad start, unable to set up Vileplume, though I did set up a Reuniclus. I set up a turn two Donphan for offensive, but he Judges. I whiff an energy I had prior to the Judge. What was that energy? Any possible energy I could get. At one point I have a chance to win it. I bench a Oddish, and Twins. I grab the second Twins for getting the Vileplume and Rare Candy, and then look for the last Oddish (one was Catcher ko’d). I look. And look. And continue to look. Oddish is prized >_>. Well, I just pass, but he doesn’t knock out Oddish, but Judges away my Twins. I get Sage, grab Twins, and pass. He Judges. There is no way I can win, but play it out in case he runs out of energy, which didn’t happen.
1-1
Wow… I haven’t started 1-1 in a while.
Round 3 vs EelZone
I have a nice set up, thanks to Tropical Beach and him N’ing me. I get out a T3 lock, attach a Rainbow to Phanpy, and pass. He hasn’t taken any prizes yet. He uses Magneton’s first attack and does 20 to me. I move the Rainbow Energy damage to Solosis (my active with 10 HP left), knock it out, and use Twins. I had a Donphan I drew, but I grab another Donphan for my other Phanpy, and another Phanpy. I use Earthquake, and he scoops. GG.
2-1
To beat EelZone with The Truth, the best strategy is to swarm high HP Pokémon, and let them take as little prizes as possible with Thundurus or Zekrom. Since all of your attackers will require 3-4 energy to knock out, by sending up Pokémon with Donphan that are offensive threats will mean they will have to knock it out. 3 Donphan means 12 lost zoned energy, means they have 1-4 energy to knock out 3 more Pokémon. Be careful with your Phanpys when benching them, because the good EelZone player will try to knock the Phanpys out before you can evolve. If you don’t use Donphan, they can still win if they take just one prize without Lost Zoning energy because they’ll only have to lost zone 3 energy to knock your other 110-150 HP Pokémon out, meaning 12, 15 maximum. Donphan is still important for The Truth because without them, it is very hard to win the EelZone matchup.
Round 4 vs Durant
I wish there was one less person, because them there wouldn’t be a Round 4.
Long story short, I am eaten by Durant. He Devour’s my deck whole, and it gone (I love Devour puns, no matter how lame they are). I am torn apart by Durant, losing and missing cut. I could rant about how I was unlucky, but not worth my… breath? (typing?).
2-2
It is annoying because this is his first competitive event… he made Top Cut.
Against Durant, you don’t always auto-loss because if you can get SEL and Vileplume, could you win. You use SEL to take prizes, and even Rotom can’t knock it out. Vileplume is so they can’t get their Durants back without Flower Shop Lady. If they use Rotom to attack, then you take the damage and knock out Rotom. Then to knock out your SEL, they will have to charge up Cobalion to knockout SEL. In the means time, you have taken at least 3 prize, but usually more. At least: One Durant, One Rotom, whatever they send up to sacrifice when setting up Cobalion, and then anything else they send up when trying to get Cobalion or necessary energy. This is unrealistic especially when you have no Twins access, but the only way to win this 10-90 matchup.
While I am writing this, I remember how whenever I loan something I don’t get it back. Nick didn’t return my Tornadus or my Rev Tyrogue.
I probably should have played EelZone. I didn’t know what to take out for the Super Rod though…
Props
• Seeing friends
• Helping people with their decks
• Panara Bread
• Smoothies
If you want to view them, here are my slops. If you don’t want to seemy complaining my slops… don’t?
This will probably me my last Cities, unless Nick gets to go to Harrisonburg (he said he’d give people rides ).

Slops
• Not getting cards back
• Prized Oddish
• I loaned Tim Foley a rev Mr Mime, I will never see it again. At Rockville, I loaned a friend a 1-1 Rev Pachimin. He forgot to return them… Helen borrowed a Reshiram FA and I don’t have it either.
