So Golduck can move any basic energy with its ability Hyper Trans so it has a lot of potential. Now what do we pair it with?
true only true perk of yveltal is the matchup with night march as it ohko all night march pokemonGolduck is essentially a "stage 2 minus Rare Candy shortcut," so it's kind of difficult to think of things to combine it with without seeming too clunky...
...much like that sentence.
Anyway, it might go well with Smeargle and some other attackers, making a toolbox deck similar to Aromatisse, but being able to swap Energy out at will. The issue is you need a way to get that Energy going in the first place. Perhaps Yveltal (XY) or Landorus (FUF) might make a decent little accelerator? Landorus can attach any Basic Energy, whereas Yveltal is restricted to Dark, but Yveltal gets 10 more damage from its attack.
There was a ruling that said that Archies/Maxies can't bring out Break. I know, they just had to ruin Golduck and Marowak.Anyone thought of bringing Golduck break out from Archie AITH?

But you can use Rainbow Energy and use a stage 1 instead of a Stage 1 Break. Also, If you run Golduck with a lot of different attackers, then you need to run a lot of different energy for those attackers. Yes, Smeargle does exist, but that takes up bench space and the energies take up a lot of deck space.@NintendoAlian
Golduck lets you move any basic energy around while Aromatisse only move fairy energy.

what about primal groudon?
Golduck doesn't provide acceleration. I believe it is more of a tech then an energy accelerator. It works great for types that don't have great or energy acceleration. Fighting and Grass types benefit greatly from golduck break because they can keep energy in play and move them around. It really helps any deck that doesn't have acceleration.
