hey, i just picked up my hgss game again today and traded over my gen 1 starters (charmander, squirtle, bulbasaur)

anyways, my charmander learned dragon rage and i realized its pretty much 1hko (40dmg) each turn.
i never really got into the whole pokemon team building, breeding, ev/iv etc...

so i was just wondering which other pokemon (NO Legendaries) make a good starting team.
imo dragon rage is pretty cheap for starting moves ^_^ anything else like this?

It depends on what game your talking of,Are you saying heartgold/Soulsilver?

Charmander-Special coverage-Dragon rage
Doduo-Physical coverage-Peck/Leer/QuickAttack/
Aerodactyl-Speed coverage-Bite/Leer
Onix-Defense coverage-Headbutt/RockThrow/Screech
Koffing-Status coverage-Defense curl/Thunderwave/Smog
Hypno-SP.Def/Bufferc coverage-Headbutt/Confusion
Wailmer(Optional)-Naive-Water/Spout-Hp

FIXED MOVES
=======================================-Early Pokemon
Charmander-Dragon Rage
Poliwag-Poliwhirl-Seismic toss
Bellsprout-Wring out
Rattata-Superfang-Cuts half opponents hp

Hope this helps in terms of Fixed moves/Move sets

one last question ^_^

where do i find king rock
cant seem to find anything about it

Sometimes politoed and poliwrath are holding them.I also believe that you can find kings rock in celestic town Were the ledge is to the left uppermost corner.

why teach tyranitar shadow claw? ghost type has two strengths:ghost and psychic, tyranitar is part dark type and dark type has those same strengths, you get STAB so i recomend crunch over shadow claw

Crunch is overrated,Try to confuse the opponent thinking crunch then Slam A SHADOW CLAW

but crunch is more powerful, whats wrong with it being overrated. you dont need to confuse them with shadow claw, you have nothing to gain from it. they will just think you are stupid. shadow claw and crunch have the same type strengths

We are so going of topic. But yeah I just consider shadow claw over crunch mostly because of the high critical hit ratio.
