Mart: Buy an IFITDS box for 58 USD on ebay from 'papermoon japn' who is a power seller. For 70 USD (includes shipping) You will have stormfront cards including a *guarenteed* 2 LV X's and about 3 SR's! So if I were you, I would get that, heck it helps your gengar needs.
I'm really iffy on online buying.

I usually buy cards 10 packs at a time.
Costs me about 43 bucks.
That's what I did with the release of MD and LA, anyway. :\
And other times I just buy 2-3 packs of other sets if I feel like it.

Why so iffy on online buying? You can get great deals on Ebay, as long as you are good at making sure a seller is legit.

I also have quite a bit of $ on paypal, and I'm waiting for Stormfront to get a box. And don't be iffy about buying online. 99% of the time everything goes fine. And if I was a ripper (which I'm not) I wouldn't rip people off on pokemon cards; I would rip them off of bigger items, like cars or something.
As mentioned before, get a box of IFDS. Just check the users feedback, and if its over 98% I really doubt they would rip you off.

Box of IFDS? No, get a box of SF instead! 
Personally, I'd test a deck you really wanna play when SF comes out (like, for me, Scizor) and after testing if you think it's up to scratch with the meta, can perform well, doesn't have rabies, etc. buy some single cards to make up the deck from EBay. When SF comes out, that is.

not that im saying this is a stupid question, but it kind of is ! once a new set is announced everyone starts thinking about current ones as "old" or "boring" . most likely everyone is just going to tell you to wait for sf because of the "what if this set is way better" excuse . and who could blame them , its most likely true! but seriously just think about it , if your asking us you should probably wait. if you were undecided in between two of your favorite sets , then i probably would reccommend something, but otherwise it could just end up a stupid "impulse buy ". immagine if sf "is" way better!
