Ruling Gourgeist and Protection Cube

Hi, Gourgeist's second attack: spirit scream "Put damage counters on both active pokemon until the remaining HP of each pokemon is 10"

Im wondering if protection cube: "prevent all damage done to the pokemon this card is attached to by attacks it uses" will stop the damage being done to gourgeist.

Protection Cube will NOT protect Gorgeist from its own attack Spirit Scream. If you read the attack and protection cubes effects closely you'll see why.

Protection Cube says "Prevent all damage done..." And Spirit Scream says, "Put damage counters on..."

Placing damage counters is different than damage from attacks so Protection Cube will not prevent Gorgeist from being reduced to 10 HP
