GREAT BALLS OF FIRE

Pokémon (10):

  • 2 Charizard EX (beatdown)
    3 Pyroar FLF (beatdown)
    1 Pyroar PHF (control)
    4 Litleo (evolution)

Trainers (38):

  • 4 Professor Sycamore (draw)
    3 Blacksmith (fuel)
    3 Lysandre (gust)
    3 Shauna (draw)
    3 N (draw)
    1 Computer Search (search)
    3 Muscle Band (beatdown)
    1 Sacred Ashes (retrieval)
    2 VS Seeker (retrieval)
    3 Roller Skates (draw)
    4 Ultra Ball (search)
    3 Switch (switch)
    3 Biycle (draw)
    2 Mountain Ring (protection)

Energy (12):

  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
    8 Fire Energy

STRATEGY:

Start with Litleo and make sure to have Pyroar from Flashfire out turn two. The deck also runs one Pyroar from Phantom Gates to act as a constant catcher since this deck needs to knock out evolution basics fast. Charizard Ex has been chosen to deal with evolution lines that escaped the onslaughter and managed to evolve. He also benefits from the same engine that fuels Pyroar. Trainers have been chosen to draw and search out needed cards fast and to obtain board control faster.

SPOILER:

Pyroar
Stage 1 Fire Pokémon - Evolves from Litleo
HP 110
Ability: Flare Command
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard 1 [R] Energy attached to this Pokemon. If you do, choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon and switch it with your opponent's Active Pokemon.
[R][R][R][C] Inferno Tackle: 110
Does 30 damage to this Pokemon.
Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

VS Seeker
Trainer - Item
Search your discard pile for a Supporter card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand.

Hey. I noticed you play both Pyroars in your deck. Do you mind splitting them up in your list? Thanks!

I feel that, since this deck will be made possible once Phantom Forces comes out, Lysandre's Last Resort will be a nice one-of or two-of in just about every deck. Maybe, once the set comes out, try this...

-1 Shauna
-1 Lysandre
+2 Lysandre's Last Resort

I dunno, maybe just test it once the cards become available.

Hope this helps,
LoneWolf2113

I'd suggest you consider incorporating a Pokémon Fan Club into your deck too. There are just times when you need to "swarm" your opponent with only Pyroars (e.g., last week I played my version of this deck and encountered 2 Plasma decks in the tournament).

Is Mountain Ring really that effective? First of all you are "helping" your opponent too since only his/her Evolutions can attack your Pyroars; so, those Evolutions gain the benefit of the Stadium too. Secondly, your opponent can perhaps easily replace the Mountain Ring Stadium.

I figure you might be confusing Mountain Ring with Training Center. Mountaing Ring in there to protect benched Litleos and Pyroars from bench snipers (not that common today). Since a Pyroar/Charizard deck doesn't hit the bench, you are giving no advantage to your opponent.

Training Center gives +30HP to non-basic, non-mega pokémon. That would indeed benefit the opponent as well.

Oooops, my bad; you are correct. Thanks. Apologies.
