"Great" pokemon in HG/SS Rarity

Does anyone know how rare the great pokemon are? Becouse from what the HG/SS set looks like, it seems that the only good pokemon are the "Great" pokemon and if the "Great" pokemon are as rare as Lv.X's then everyone will have trouble playng a decent HG/SS deck.

Yes, that seems to be correct. The Great pokemon have that silver bordering around the card. Just like EX and Lv X cards did and do. So in theory, they will be of same/similar rarity and be difficult to find.

^ It would be much better if they were like EX's though, becouse if they were then the pull ratio would be much higher. The ratio's for the Lv.X's are fine becouse you only need one or two in a deck, but with "Great" pokemon you need at least three. :(

I've noticed it's more based on the amount of the cards per set. EX's and sets like SV, and LS have high ultra-rare rates because they have a lot of these cards. HGSS has a decent amount. I predict 2-3 per box.

^Thats just like Lv.X's, and if it's that way then nobody (without money) will be able to get enough great cards.

I LOVE HAVING MONEY(that's why I skipped Arceus) so I'll have no problems but I do see this as a potential problem for people at states, that is not getting enough greats to make a good deck :(

But you forget about those adults that play. They go and buy a case or two of cards and get EVERYTHING they need. And many kids that play have parents that pay for them.... Its not fair... lol

The funny part for me is; I have the salamence Lv X I needed. And I have a complete set of all Arceus types; Lv X as well.

I dont really need anymore of the Platinum Arceus cards now. Im just going to save up until HG/SS.

When does Arceus go on sale here?

When is HG/SS due to be released over here?

Arceus officially releases tomorrow (November 4th).

dmaster out.

^ WOOT! cool i love the Arceus set. Does anyone who has bought Japanese HG/SS cards know the "Great" pokemon ratio per box??

I thought the best place to look for pull ratios would be youtube. maybe find someone who got an HGSS box and videotaped it. I could not find one. I think the best way to predict what the ratio will be is to look to the old EX sets and find that pack ratio. Since Great pokemon appear to have similar mechanics to EX pokemon then it would be safe to imply they would have the same pack ratio as EXs. I just hope it is not some rediclous number like 2-3 or even 3-4 because to even try and make a good deck you would have to pay a sick amount of money to get the 2,3,4 Great Pokemon you need to build a deck. If it is like that then I will never play this game again. Nothing says screw the players like making all the good cards only avaliable to the rich and the staff.

PUA has been very conscious of that fact lately. The league uxe/claydols are an example. I would expect the pull ratio will be very high since they should know that we need lots of them to play them.

I'm honestly hoping the pull ratio is somewhat low like 3-4, cuz that will give me just enough to make my decks and would give me an edge since I'm saving up 400-500 bucks for the set, maybe more if I can keep my 4.6 gpa up. and quite frankly I'd like to have a competitive edge for once.

im thinking 4-5 cause there are so many and cause they can be RH now

My 2 SoulSilver and 2 HeartGold boxes both had 4 Great Pokemon and 1 LEGEND, so I think by now it's safe to say there are just 4. Which is nice, easy enough to complete the whole set.

Probably, but if your playing Ursaring Great then you'll need 4 Ursaring Great to make it work which will cost way too much money...
