I've always love Guzzlord-GX but it's too slow and very reliant on RNG if you use eat sloppily. You need to fill your deck with lots and lots of energy to have consistency. In the best scenario, you are already setup within 2 turns. But again, RNG plays a big part, *not to mention, you'll be discarding cards that are not energy*

But then Forbidden Light came. I think Beast Ring is a perfect combo with Guzzlord-GX. You can use it multiple times in a turn to accelerate his energy requirements + you don't get to discard any cards from your deck.

The new Alolan Marowak also helps with the acceleration. Having no cost for Limbo Limbo, you can attach 2 energies from your deck to your Pokemon.

Beast Energy + Choice Band can net you 240 damage. 160 for its GX attack, which is unfortunately short of a K.O. to a GX for the 4 prize card.

Any thoughts? Things to improve?

What if you swapped 1 or 2 Kukui in for some combo of Nest/Ultra/Dark energy? Then you could hit 180 for the 4-prize play.

oh yah! totally forgot about that card! I guess I'll swap 2 for a nest ball and a dark energy.. or probably a Guzzlord.. is 3 enough?

So maybe add 2 Kukui and 1 Devoured Field? You could try swapping out 1 Guzzlord and see how that goes if you don’t want to part with the energy or the search power. You could also tech in a baby Guzzlord if you’re feeling spicy. That takes one less energy, it can OHKO most basic GX with a Choice Band, and it could hit most Stage 1 with a Kukui, plus it only gives up one prize.

You could also swap your rescue stretcher for a super rod if you want to get energy back into the deck. Energy recycler could work too.

I’m not sure you need the Oranguru and the Octillery either, so you could get rid of Oranguru, or you could add an Oranguru and get rid of the 2-1 Octillery.

Adding another Mallow wouldn’t hurt either, since it pairs well with Octillery and Eat Sloppily.

Cool! Devoured Field is another great addition. The 4-Prize attack is looking good now.

I'll probably remove the Oranguru since the Abyssal Hand is a better combo with Mallow to allow me to get at least the Beast Rings to setup the energy for my Guzzlord.

I'll playtest this one over the weekend. Thanks for the suggestions!

What if the beast energy is prized? Also even if it is in your deck you cannot search it out so it's hard to get it all the time.
Also you will probably need a Guzma to put the right Pokemons in the active position.
So with Guzzlord GX attack you should be aiming for 130 with choice band.

So you could put in 2-3 baby Kokos and DCEs and let them do 20 spread across the board until two of them get knocked out.

Then when your opponent is down to 4 prize cards left start rolling out the beast rings and many max exilirs too. You might need Guzma at this point too so maybe you need to get the health down to 130 on the Lele.

Also a good opponent will see this coming so you cannot leave your Guzzlord GX's on the bench. They will easily Guzma up the Guzzlord for a knock out (easy with Buzzwole or Ultra Necrozma now). So you have to do a little surprise attack with the Guzzlord.

So if you pull off the Guzzlord GX sneak attack, you still have to take 2 more prize cards, which may be tricky because the Guzzlord attack is a little bit of a one trick pony and you already used up that trick. :) :)

Given all that information, I would check out Ultra Space, super rod and energy recycler. You can keep the Guzzlord GXs in your hand that way, so there’s no Guzma play.

If you’re dedicated to the one turn possibilities and need damage help, having 2 Koko promos and 2 DCE would help. Plus, you can use the DCEs for Tyrannical Hole and Lele.

If you can find a way to take 2 prize cards (like with Lele, or adding Mewtwo or Sudowoodoo), then charge up 2 Guzzlords (or 1 Baby and 1 GX), you will win the game. Getting to that point may be a struggle though.A Buzzwole would need enough energy for a knuckle impact to one shot you even with strong energy, so if you can get the first OHKO, you might snag two OHKOs and win the game.

Skyla is something worth trying, because you could grab items like Beast Ring and Choice Band. That could help with the one turn setup.

Counter catcher and counter energy would be good too (the energy if you decide you want at least one Baby Guzzlord).

Buzzwole plus a one strong energy (or a beast energy), plus a choice band, plus diancie prism = 30 + 20 + 30 + 20 = 100 damage times 2 for weakness = 200 damage

So you can jet punch for knock out, with strong energy and choice band. Add in Lycanroc GX ability on turn 2 and you are bringing up the Guzzlords to the active. I don't think Guzzlord stands a chance, the weakness to fighting is too much.

It’s still a huge risk, but Guzzlord is 210 so it would take an additional strong energy on top of that for the OHKO.
