Strategy:

Now I haven't seen this deck before so I'm going to provide the main focus. This is also my first deck I made myself.

The main focus of this deck is to have the Tauros GX out in front with a DCE and a Fighting Fury Belt on as fast as possible. Tauros GX can soak up most damage actually increasing his rage to insanely high amounts. With a Fighting Fury Belt it will also be hard for anything to one hit Tauros GX and most people attempt to play around him. Decidueye GX is actually the backup attacker in this deck dealing damage from the bench and being able to come up if need be for a Hollow Hunt or Razor leaf. Now the 2-2 line of Shiinotic and 1 oranguru is my way to make up for not being able to afford a Shaymin EX lol. Mainly my item cards are there to lay down my Tauros GX as fast as possible that is why you see the 2 nest balls there. The revitalizer and Forest of Giant plants are there so just in case it turns out Decidueye GX would be a better head to head fighter, making it faster for me to get Decidueye GX out there. I know this is not a perfect deck but I feel it will work very well in the current meta. I just started out playing Pokemon again very recently so this has been really fun. I welcome any advice or suggestions!

Following are a few thoughts for your consideration:
  • IMO, replacing the entire Shinotic line with Level Balls would serve you better for 2 reasons: 1) you can get the Decisueye GX line(s) into play faster, and 2) the Shinotic line represent easy 1HKO targets.
  • Computer Search is not legal in Standard decks.
  • 2 VS Seeker is woefully insufficient; these should be maxed-out to support optimal deck operations.
Suggested deck changes:

-2 Morelull
-2 Shinotic
-1 Computer Search
-2 Nest Ball - no longer critical given +3 Level Ball

+1 Tauros GX - another primary, preferred starting attacker, plus increases chances of starting with it
+3 Level Ball - increased Pokémon search capability
+2 Trainer's Mail - increased deck operations consistency
+1 VS Seeker

Other cards worth considering to add:

  • Olympia - provides healing and switching capability
  • Special Charge - recovers and recycle Special energy
I hope you find these comments helpful.

What you pointed out makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the input. I might keep 1 nest ball and only put 2 level ball, that way I have a way to instantly get a tauros or rowlett down. Everything else you recommended makes a lot more sense then what I put and I will probably change my deck accordingly.

One more change :)

-1 Fighting Fury Belt (to bring the total to 2)
+1 Float Stone (to bring the total to 2)

You are going to need this. While everything in your deck *can* act as a primary attacker (even Oranguru), the last thing you want is an owl active that you can't get to your bench.

I also agree with Olympia + Special charge as potential additions along with a Hex Maniac or two. Not sure who you are playing against and what level of the competition you face, but if you see Decidueye / Vileplume at all, you are going to want that Hex in order to effectuate your strategy.

I played a version of this deck at league over the weekend and it crushed! Leave the Shiinotic line whatever you do, it helps out tremendously. Once you have at least 2 on the bench, you can quickly set up Decidueye GX. I had 4 Decidueye's, at one time (1 Active and 3 Benched) plus 2 more Shiinotic benched, so I was able to knock out at least 1-2 pokemon per turn, quickly winning the match. The decklist looks like this:

Pokemon: 20

2 - Tauros GX
4 - Rowlet
4 - Dartix
4 - Decidueye
3 - Morelull
3 - Shiinotic

Trainers: 28

2 - Lillie
2 - Lysandre
2 - N
1 - Skyla
4 - Professor Sycamore
3 - Forest of Giant Plants
4 - Ultra Ball
1 - Nest Ball
2 - VS Seeker
2 - Timer Ball
2 - Professor’s Letter
2 - Revitalizer
1 - Super Rod

Energy: 12

4 - Double Colorless
8 - Grass

I am thinking of taking out -1 FOGP for +1 Brock's Grit or Fisherman. Reason being for -1 FOGP is because with Decidueye being played a lot I will use their stadium to my advantage.
