I've enjoyed moderate success with this deck I just built it out of what I had available.

##Pokémon - 13

* 4 Talonflame STS 96
* 4 Magikarp GEN 22
* 3 Gyarados AOR 20
* 2 Regice AOR 24 ( Cute Tech has come up big in majority of matches even though it messes up ratios)

##Trainer Cards - 33

* 3 Rough Seas PRC 137
* 4 Trainers' Mail ROS 92
* 2 N PR-BLW BW100
* 2 Wally ROS 94
* 2 Lysandre AOR 78
* 1 Teammates PRC 141
* 4 Max Elixir BKP 102( Need energys on gyarados ASAP but not sure if 4 is the right number here)
* 4 Tierno BKP 112
* 2 Float Stone BKT 137 (I havent tested Manaphy EX but I feel with Talon it messes up the ratios more)
* 2 Ultra Ball FAC 113
* 4 Dive Ball PRC 125
* 3 Professor Sycamore XY 122

##Energy - 14

* 12 Water Energy XYEnergy 9
* 2 Double Colorless Energy NXD 92

Total Cards - 60
Im not a high level competitive player just a for fun locals guy since most major events got moved out of Canada from what Ive heard.

Fixes/Recommendations welcome

You need to have Team Magma Secret Base or the deck does not function. It's way too slow to build up damage on Magikarp in other ways. I would also drop the Max Elixirs and some Water Energy to make room for 4 copies of Double Colorless Energy and 4 copies of Team Magma's Secret Base.

That being said, Talonflame is honestly not a bad idea for the deck. There isn't much of point of attacking with Gyarados if you can't power him up, so the Talonflame can hopefully help you if you start with it.

Ive been using the aor 20 gyarados not aor 21. Dont need counters on karp.

Like @Jambsz just said, talon flame is a great addition to the deck. HOWEVER. you can drop the regice and remove the the energy count to up your stadium count to 4 magma secret base and 4 double colorless. In order for talon flame to work in the deck, you must have it as a priority to start with.

Oh well in that case you should add a Mr. Mime from breakpoint. Prevents damage to your bench.

What could also be interesting is adding a single Meowstic-EX from generations, that way you can move some of the single dmg from your benched pokemon and add that extra 10 dmg you need for KO's. http://shop.tcgplayer.com/pokemon/generations/meowstic-ex
