Discussion Gyarados-EX/Golduck BREAK/M-Mewtwo-EX deck viable?

I had an idea for a deck to get lots of energy with a Fighting Fury Belt (to last longer) Gyarados-EX (or Charizard-EX with stoke thanks to the new Charizard-EX box (not the generations one)), transfer it to a M-Mewtwo-EX using Golduck BREAK and do massive amounts of damage. Do you think it could work?

A lot of inconsistence and loss of time and card count, when you can simply play Mega Turbo instead.

Mega Turbo only works 4 times at most to attach 4 energies, and even then one or even two of them could be prized. Being generous, if M-Mewtwo-EX can get 7 energies on it, there are still lots of Megas that can outlast it that can use mega turbo, like Primal Groudon-EX or M-Aggron-EX, as well. If Gyarados-EX has 220 HP because of Fighting Fury belt, and heals every turn using Rough Seas and Pokemon Center lady, if you're lucky, you could get every single water energy in you're deck on it! Mega Turbo could still be useful though, so thanks for the suggestion.

Looks pretty unreliable, since you have a 50% chance of getting no energy at all.

Though it isn't legal in Standard right now, Fairy toolbox Mewtwo (with Xerneas and Aromatisse) looks pretty much better in every aspect but that wasn't played much iirc. Could try playing it in Expanded though.

If you want to go ahead and play this deck in Standard, I'd replace Gyarados/Charizard with Articuno (with find ice), since it's attack does the same thing as Charizard's one without the coin flip, and you give up less prize cards. Not something that would really get you any wins in competitive play, but you can definitely try it as a "fun" type of deck.

That... is actually an amazing idea! Thanks for the suggestion!

Then again, Articuno can only get energy into your hand. In fact, you could easily run a Volcanion instead of Gyarados-EX or Charizard-EX as well.

Yeah, made a brain fart with Articuno there and forgot it only added energy to your hand. Sorry about that, haha.
