Hello All,
Been testing this fun deck for a couple of weeks, gotten a few comedy wins and was just looking for some advice on it, just in case I was missing something that could make it a little stronger
Just a few quick notes:
1- The reason behind the No Leles is the current group in my home town are only playing for fun and don't want to spend a great deal, so they play a No Lele format. I do play in other groups where Leles are fine, but wanted the deck to be playable in both without changing cards around each time I travel. I also feel with Brooklet Hill and Ultra Ball you don't really need Brigette in this list and thus Turn 1 Lele isn’t as necessary.
2- I have seen the Kiawe and Celebi Flail builds of this deck, but with No Lele the Kiawe one isn't viable and with Flail I find it too defensive and ability dependant (Though a 1 energy attack would be super nice)
Anyway, the list:
Pokemon (12)
3x Gyaraods GX
1x Gyarados XY109 (Strange inclusion, but I needed a non-GX attacker t0 deal with Ninetales/Hoopa that can take advantage of Aqua Patch. Open to suggestions to change this though. It's more gimmicky than good)
4x Magikarp CIN
1x Palkia EX BKP
1x Manaphy EX BKP
1x Remoraid BKT
1x Octillery BKT
Trainers (34)
4x Professor Sycamore
4x N
3x Guzma
2x Lusamine
4x Ultra Ball
4x Max Elixir
4x Aqua Patch
3x Choice Band
2x Super Rod
4x Brooklet Hill
Energy (14)
10x Water Energy
4x Double Colourless Energy
So, with the new Magikarp it feels a little safer to Max Elixir onto it, plus with the Waterfall Evolution on it being able to Turn 1 (if you go second) Gyarados from either Aqua Patch or Max Elixir a Water onto a Magikarp and attach a DCE has been really nice
The 2 Lusamine have been really stand out too, Playing Lusamine to get the other Lusamine and a Brooklet Hill to allow Gyarados to stream hitting for 200/230(w/ Choice Band) has sometimes been too much for some decks to handle if I can get that chain off early enough
I would like to find space for a Field Blower and potentially an Enhanced Hammer, though I may not need the later as the GX attack Dread Storm pretty much does that job on overtime for me.
Obviously, this is nowhere near a top tier deck, or even Tier 3, but it's a good laugh and surprisingly competitive for a GX that has been widely viewed as a disappointment. It's also relatively cheap to chuck together, with only Max Elixirs being expensive.
Anyway, thanks for reading and let me know what you think, I've probably missed something glaringly obvious and am open to suggestions![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
