Collecting Gyarados "Rarest Card" on Ebay?

hey all,

If you look up Gyarados on eBay you will find a auction for a version of the base set holo that is unlike any card I have ever seen before. I truly believe that this is possibly one of those once in a million finds. Can anyone explain the variation shown in these two gyarados's??? Here is the auction link! I am thinking on getting in on the action. Need halls feedback!

I have never seen or heard of something like that. I strongly believe it is a fake card. The "Gold" holofoil looks like it was drawn on using Paint. Also the #130 on the bottom of that card is a larger font than on a normal card. I would not recommend trying to buy that.
 
I concur with Celty. Definitely a fake. It looks like glitter sprinkled onto Elmer's glue.

I sure hope the OP isn't the seller...
 
I concur with all of the the above, not sure about the gold it does not look right, the #130 looks like it was done with MS Paint, just sticks out worse than a sore thumb. Also the actual quality of the print looks overall just worse and less vivid/strong (but then it might be fading although somehow I doubt it here), the bordering looks somewhat off too.
 
I as well concur with all of the people above me. I believe that it has a imbedded layer of foil placed over the background i have the same "foil" feeling texture on my cradily card that i posted and it was a fake. Please don't waste your monies on a fake card.
 
Apparently someone bought that for $500. I am disappointed in the universe.

Judging by the bid history (which is largely one person outbidding himself, followed by unnecessarily high bids by factors of hundreds), I wouldn't be surprised if it was some scam to make the card look valuable so they can reference this auction price in future listings.
