Hack check questions

Im not sure if this is the right place but I couldnt find anywhere better.

1. If you used an action replay to get master balls and caught some pokemon, would they show up as hacked? And what about rare candies?

2. If you used an action replay code such as the walk through walls code, would you pass a hack check?

1) It depends on the Pokemon, really. If that Pokemon normally can't be caught in a Master Ball (such as the starters or stuff like Larvesta), it will show up as hacked. As for Rare Candies, I don't think so, because it just checks the Pokemon's stats.

2) I don't think that would show up, as you're just checking the team, not the game.

I don't know for sure of course, and those who do are sworn to silence. I'm just making educated guesses.

Inventory hacks, while able to be detected quite easily, will not penalize you in the VGC. Sure, they are frowned upon, but what gets you DQ'd is hacking to change a Pokemon's stats or abilities (eg. Garchomp with 999 in every stat, Spiritomb with Wonder Guard). Maximizing a Pokemon's IVs or EVs instantly also warrants a DQ. Same goes with having a Pokemon's stats higher than physically possible.

However, don't use an encounter hack along with inventory hacks. Catching a Mewtwo with a Cherish Ball on Route 3 is DQ'able :p

Same with items. While frowned upon, they are legal.

@ISB:

What do you mean by "Maximizing IVs or EVs instantly"? Using a cheat to max out a wild Pokémon's IVs and/or using stat boost items that give 252 EVs at once? Just need clarification.

basically putting 255 EVs and 31 EVs in every stat or so.
I'm not sure if a hack check picks up putting 252 EVs instantly into a stat...
 
Cloning is also one of those "legal yet frowned upon hacks" and an easy way to EV train is just to train with the Wings from 999 items hack which are both legal.

The hell was I talking about...instantly.

What I meant to say is exactly how DNA put it. Having 31 IVs in every stat and 255/252 EVs in every stat. The 31 IVs won't get you caught immediately...(could just be dumb luck). But the EVs definitely will.
 
Editing a Pokemon whether it be by IVs or EVs will instantly get you caught. I'm sure of that. The only way to hack good IVs in without getting caught is hacking a perfect parent and breeding a "legit" pokemon from that. A way to put easy EV's into a pokemon is wings like already stated, however I believe there's a hack to edit the vitamins to give 252 into a stat instead of 10 like they normally would. I'd just use the wings.

It does exist. I (formally) used it in Gen 4 to speed up EV training, but I don't know if that would pass a hack check or not. One day I'll find out.
 
I'm pretty sure they do because they don't directly edit the pokemon they edit the item which aren't checked. Only thing that's checked is the team. So I'm going to assume no, but you're better off using wings.
